Well I would not call it addiction, but pure pleasure. Considering there is no good alternative and considering the amount of mods available for it, I'm not sure we even play the game that was released back in 2006 anymore, at least some of us don't :D

TES games have been around for quite some time now and there are people that played all TES games.

I second that. My game is merely the spirit of what Bethesda intended when they set out to create a sandbox action game in a medieval fantasy world for the 360.

I would not say it's addictive, just really slow paced in a good way. It takes forever to do the slightest thing if you have the amount of ADD that I have, so it takes a lot of time out of your life if you let it. It can end up being the same thing as really addictive at the end of the day.

I actually like going for long stretches at a time of not playing it at all. Gives it more meaning when I do play it.

I've been playing it since it first came out, but I wouldn't call it an addiction. I just never seem to get tired of it. The game changes each time I play. I have modifications that I've downloaded from The Nexus that I haven't even used yet just waiting for the time to throw them in to keep the game going. It's kind of like a job that you just enjoy going to every day. Right now I'm taking a break from the game to play Fallout 3, but I know that Oblivion will be there waiting for me when I get back.

I am not addicted I can stop anytime i want

Actually I loved the game I must have played it like nine times though at the least, but as of late I have stop playing, mainly because it keeps crashing and fallout 3 has spoiled me, but I do modd it a lot, and i would be playing it right now if my graphics card didn't crap out on me 2 weeks ago

I also like doing that. Not only it makes the game more interesting, but every time I come back, there's like tons of new mods, giving me the opertunity to experience something new every time.

True,true...But Pushkatu is right...All this new mods...And all that is making this game so god damn interesting for playing :)))

That's why I advice people to stop complaining when they see another mod that does the same thing as other 100 released before, but in a different way.... variety matters.

Cheers,

Pushkatu!

Just back from near a year off the game myself. Yes, Oblivion is quite addictive for me so it'll be me sorted for a good while :) Can't wait to get stuck back in! Fresh start with a new character.

Getting the tedium of essential mods out of the way first; I am looking forward to seeing what new stuff there is out there!

I would day that it is certainly addictive. I also think it is very aptly named, since when I play it the rest of the whole world evaporates into nothingness. It causes me some problems in that regard, actually, and that's a sign of addiction. I tend to spend every available waking hour playing it sometimes, and when I dream, I dream I'm in Cyrodiil. That's probably a bad thing, but I don't care.
