Can the game's engine NOT do this?????

I have looked up all 52 games that use the same game engine

as Oblivian and saw that NONE truly support the idea of a craft

being contralled with a cockpit veiw point.

(even brigde commander dosent realy support true the cockpit veiw idea ,

Nor did any fallout 3 mods support this)

Yet I have seen some mods that change the veiwable area.

A reccent helmute mod comes to mind that changed your veiw by

restricting it to the helmutes open visor slot . (it was the shape of a T I think)

And Ive seen 3d person veiwed contralble crafts.

So is it safe to say that none of the modding communty wants this?? Or is it that

its not possable to do?? I am the guy that asked for the mini sub from morrwind to be

converted to oblivian since its THE ONLY MOD IN 52 GAMES to atemp this from what I have seen.

And that is truly a ground breaking mod is it not?? Since it is the ONLY mod to offer the cockpit veiw point???

I can at the moment from a 3d person veiw in oblivian

sail a boat

row a boat

fly a jet pack

control a horse,spider,bear,etc...oh yeah a flying horse or flying dragon too!

Oh and wait for it.......

Fly a plane jet or glider

(the glider offers the closest but dosent encase the pilot hence the cockpit veiw statement)

so whats up with that??

As for not getting the question try this

1. look up the mini sub mod for morrowind

2........read what it does..notice the POV

3. look thru all 52 games listed by wiki that use same engine as Oblivian and fallout 3 for a mod with the same features "POV"

4. scratch head and wonder why this has not been done for any BUT morrowind?

5. Then ask to find out why..is it a software based problem, hardware based problem, and or people based problem.

Your tone relates to this issue seems to be rather hostile. If you are wanting to get help, it is usually best to not antagonize those who might give you answers, especially when this is an issue which is not easily solved. Furthermore, not everyone understands what is meant by your request since you are rattling off about what is in other games using the same engine as if it has some particular meaning. Oblivion may use the same engine series as Fallout 3, but has most of its elements specially coded for Oblivion. Just because something is present in one of the other games using this engine does not mean that it can be done in Oblivion, and vise-versa. Similarly, anything that you want to do which is unusual for that game, regardless of engine, would almost certainly need quite a bit of specific scripting and knowledge which can be extremely limited in application. As demonstrated, you can have portions of the screen blacked out. However, this is likely an adjustment to some mesh element on the UI and is not directly related to anything native to the game. As you never bother to mention which sub mod you are talking about for Morrowind (as if expecting everyone to know about it in detail), and don't mention specifically what you are wanting to do, NOBODY can give you an effective answer.

Off-hand I would say that what you want to do cannot be done without a large amount of modeling, animation, and scripting knowledge. This is not a matter of a simple conversion or just defining some things in the CS. While you can use a furniture marker to lock the player in place, and use a mesh around the player (not part of the player) to present a sort of cockpit view that won't follow the direction the player is looking, this is not something that can easily be done, which is why it really hasn't been.

Furthermore, not everyone on this forum has English as a native language, so providing clarification as to what the hell you're talking about from time to time should be expected. If people don't respond to a post, chances are that they don't know the answer, or don't know it well enough to offer any help. Having a thread full of "don't know" responses tends to be rather useless. NOBODY is required to respond to your posts with any sort of answer, if they do so, it is only because they want to offer some bit of help or reassurance. I suggest you change your tone and accept that when dealing with anything complex like this, answers aren't always available.

I suppose you could hve a cockpit hthat acts like a seat, but you'd have to use first person mode, as the camera would take you outside the cockpit.

Thenn you could have an activator shaped like a control, that would transport you to a duplicate of that cockpit, and pop up a message box saying you switched on the whatever and traveled, but that wouldn't be all that dramatic.

In short, a bit tricky, and nigh impossible to do elegantly.

This is where extensive scripting would need to come into play. You may even be better off working how the horse is controlled and either scripting the vehicle to work similarly, or making use of the system used directly by making a horse that looks like a sub or glider.

But yes, anything like this needs rather specific modeling, scripting and animating talents, and isn't something that you would be able to get much or any help with.
