GameTourist
Wondering how many history geeks there are on here. Cuneiform is one of the oldest writing system we know of going back to Messopotamia 4,000 BCE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuneiform Edited July 5, 2014 by GameTourist
IsharaMeradin
Using the images on the linked page as a guide. I do not see much similarity at all. The dragon alphabet is limited to a maximum of three scratches and a single point. This is because of the dragon claw having three large talons and one dewclaw.http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dragon_Alphabet In the broadest sense of the word, I suppose there is room for including the dragon alphabet. After all a talon scratching a surface may very well leave behind a wedge shaped mark. But to say that they write Cuneiform as our ancient ancestors did is quite the stretch. Ya, I was exaggerating but thats the first thing I thought when I saw it: "Wow, dragons write in cuneiform!" Gazz43
Who would have thought Bethesda putting a peace of history writing in the game i mean the Dragon shouts. Cuneiform is a system of writing first developed by the ancientSumerians of Mesopotamia c. 3500-3000 BCE. It is considered the most significant among the many cultural contributions of the Sumerians and the greatest among those of the Sumerian city ofUruk which advanced the writing of cuneiform c. 3200 BCE. The name comes from the Latin word cuneus for 'wedge' owing to the wedge-shaped style of writing. In cuneiform, a carefully cut writing implement known as a stylus is pressed into soft clay to produce wedge-like impressions that represent word-signs
