Thor.
I have been doing some serious research on how to get a 480P signal through component for the Gc, may work with the n64, snes Sega and many others. For ntsc user like me i had to get a s.video to component video converter. It may have a high price tag but its worth it if you're trying to get a higher res picture on your HD tv. see video http://www.svideo.com/svc2ypbpr.html ------------------------------------for people who use PAL your solution is cheaper :( i have pictures  seem to have some issues deleting pics. "female to scart" check link. Note the Wii component does not work on the Gamecube or the n64. http://www.svideo.com/ada-scart-2-cmp.html

CommanderCrazy
I do! I have the original NES and a SNES. I'm gonna keep 'em for about another decade and see what I can get for them & the games that I have. I likely wont sell them though.
Thor.
What i was trying to do is get a decent image out of a lcd tv, you know how ugly the snes looks on a 42 inch lcd don't you, well component works great with that cleaning part of the image. It somewhat up samples it to 480P. The snes had s-video cable. Witch was considered HD back in the day. Even that looks horrible. I still have my white snes in working condition. Cleans it out once in awhile  . I have at least 50 games now, found about 30 of them on Ebay as a bundle thing for 30$
