A Droppable Teleport Pad?

I love going down to Avalon in the Frostcrag mod, but I hate the long trek. I wish there was a teleport pad you could drop anywhere and fast travel right to it. Then you could teleport into your own house or where ever you wanted. Maybe go into sneak to pick it up or move it?

I could do this but to make it teleport the only way would be too cast a spell at it and it would move you to another teleporter that you can move around and if you dont have it placed a message will say " There is no existing link between these portals "

How about two teleport pads? Drop one where you want it to start and the other where you want it to go. Then I could have the main one at home where I can hop on and it'll take me to wherever I dropped the other.

I see a lot of scripting in your future.

Once you drop pad and teleport, how will the pad you just dropped be added back to your inventory, since you left on the ground? If it works like a door you wont be able to get rid of the spawned teleport marker created by the 'door'. The game won't allow it.

What will happen if you use the static teleport pad and teleport yourself into your inventory?

How will you position the marker on the game's XYZ axis once you drop the thing?

There is going be a lot of 'setref me's', 'moveto me's', etc. You'll probably need a dummy cell to hold trigger zones that will be scripted to center themselves on the dropped portal so you wont end up inside a wall or stuck half way through the floor or ground. You'll have to set a lot of variables, maybe create fake spells with nothing but scripted effects to get everything positioned and probably a lot of other junk I haven't thought of. I'm NOT trying to be a wiseguy, but I did something like this a few years ago for companions. I used a plate and then the Z key to make sure it was face up before I activated it. And you'll have to script for an activation menu to either pick up the moveable pad and add it to your inventory or activate it to travel to your receiving pad.

One way to do it might be to summon an invisble NPC who would cast a 'teleport' spell on you, moving you to the desired location. Set script variables to kill and then disable the NPC and have them respawn and then reset in the dummy spell. The NPC would then be ready for the next summons/teleport.
