It looks so ugly compared to the old one. It's all squeezed together in the center of the screen, making things so confusing. To be honest it looks like a CONSOLE forum with everything so big an shiny it just makes me p*ke. So please Dark0ne when the change is going to happen to Nexus please, please, please, use a widescream skin!!! Consoles are gonna get every single one of us eventualy... geeez! :(

To give us no widescreen and slow scrolling is a terrible journey straight back to 1985.

Just left a message there complaining about the grey-on-black look, the long load times, and the slow, jerky movement when paging up/down through a thread. What a mess. They really could have used some carefully managed user input before going that route. In any case, I've downgraded my visits. It just causes my eyes to water too much, and I'm simply not the most patient of persons when it comes to waiting for things to load. My bad.

 

I wouldn't expect what's coming to be like that, here. For one thing, I'm sure the management can see the pretty extensive and intense reactions at Bethsoft. ;) For another, this current change seems to be driven by an end to software support and a need for greater security. It stands to reason that the aesthetics will attempt to match up to what people know and like, rather than "improve" what doesn't need change, as Bethsoft did.

Nope.

 

The file sites TESNexus, FO3Nexus and DANexus will look the same except for the parts where Dark0ne has made feature changes. No need for screenshots here.

 

The forums however are going to go from IPB 2.x to 3.x and the current "skin" does not work on 3.x so we will be using a different skin (plus one extra skin option if you like)

EDIT: As for the Bethesda changes....

 

1. It is irritating that all my former links to thread no longer work!

2. It is doublie irritating that the "Topics: I Replied" does not work for any posts BEFORE the upgrade!

 

The only way I kept up with topics was using the the "I replied" feature and now I have no idea how many topics I actually replied to or where they are at. grrrr!!!!

 

EDIT #2: Looks like they fixed the "I Replied" problem. :D

Get the Stylish plug-in for Firefox. It allows you to customize the CSS layout. Some guys over at the BGS froums already wrote some new ones. :)

Well I did want to get that, but when I clicked on the link provided on that topic, it said I have to install another thing in order for that Stylish stuff to work so I said NO THANK YOU! I don't think it's normal that people have to install all kinds of stuff just to make things works properly. That is their job not ours. I'll wait and see what's gonna happen. :(

Firefox 3 at least allows you to expand the size of the page to accommodate the squeezed text, but the scrolling that staggers down, the inability to select highlighted text moderately near the top of the page, the long load times, and the bad color combination aren't doing Bethsoft any favors. Sheesh, I've got, what...? 6000+ posts, there. And after 10 minutes now, my eyes tear from the text-on-background.

 

The advanced search function looks much less effective, too. Forgot about that. What was it a wise person once said, about "Don't fix what ain't broke?" ;)

 

Oh, and this will probably be my last whinge on the matter. Well, certainly probably. Most likely.

That's what it is then. My upper corner is all jumbled up where your screen is clear. Thanks for the direct URL. I'll have to use that I guess.
