Gizardo123
So I made a new character and wanted to import the mods to him. I've tried everything I can think of. Yes I've tried that 8 steps in the other thread to try and get my mods to reappear, but nothing works Hell I moved all my characters out of the save folder and started a new one and it STILL doesn't work. This is very aggravating, as due to me deleting the mods in-game, they won't reappear, so 2 of my characters are naked. Please, if anyone has any advice, let me know. Also, I've tried reinstalling the game, didn't work. Yes I am using the DAOModManager. Latest patch 1.03 and all that. I am completely stumped as to what to do, I feel like I've exhausted every single option. I really don't want to have to start the entire game over, twice, as I planned to import those 2 characters into Awakening. I've tried about 20 different clean saves and uninstalling the mods. I am stumped, I am mad, and if anyone can help me out, you would make my day. The only mods that reappear are the ones that duplicate everytime you load the game. I really don't want to do the scripting, because I know nothing about making mods, and by the time I figure it out I could simply replay the game. Here are a list of my mods.http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/6152/dragonagemodsscreenshoi.th.jpg :wallbash:
Sebiale
Patch 1.03 is most likely the major problem here.It royally messed up official DLC and a lot of mods. You need to get it off your computer.
Gizardo123
Seriously? The patch is the problem? I have the Steam version so it automatically updates for me, what can I do to remedy this horrible situation?
Sebiale
The problem is that, while uninstalling 1.03 isn't too difficult, as soon as Steam notices that 1.03 isn't there anymore it will automatically reinstall.I'm sure there's a method that can disable Steam from doing that, but as I don't use Steam I can't attest to it. If you know how, you could set up your internet to block all Steam content. I'm researching it atm, I'll get back to you. Other than that, you should be aware that save games made in 1.03 will probably not roll back to 1.02. Meaning you'll need to pick up with a save from 1.02, once you uninstall 1.03 I could be wrong about that though.
Gizardo123
Thank you for the info, but are you sure 1.03 is causing all my mods to not show up?
Sebiale
The procedure I found for disabling Steam auto-updates is: right-click on the game -> properties -> updates tab. And then under "automatic updates," select "Do not automatically update this game. Seems simple enough, although I've heard that at times it may not work, not sure why that would be. That's why I don't use Steam :P No I'm not totally sure. It could be cause by any number or things, but the fact that this is occurring after 1.03 and you've apparently done nothing else out of the ordinary for you makes it my best guess. DarkeWolf
yes, more than likely the cause is patch 1.03. Many issues related to that patch. It is possible to disable the autoupdate as Sebiale posted (Thanks Sebiale, will remember that process!) However, the most effective method is to just disallow the program access to the internet via firewall. If you've got windoes xp sp2 or later, and you have it running, or have a 3rd party firewall on your computer, you can configure it to not allow the dragonage.exe files to have access to the net.if the program can't connect to the net, it can't autoupdate ;) edit- this might be a temp solution tho, if you install the expansion when it's released. Many of these programs go online to verify that the install is valid, and not a pirate. so it may have to do that in order for you to play Awakenings. Gizardo123
I have Vista Ultimate, how can I disable Dragon Age so it doesn't access the internet?
Gizardo123
So I tried reinstalling the game, turning off the auto-update feature, but it still installed version 1.03. What can I do now?
