Kurtwk5
I am in the same boat with modding my question though seems to be should I use FOMM or the NMM as it seem some mods say FOMM and some dont im confused and I probably broke my game by using both :(. Paranoid23
You should run a program called BOSS which will put your mods in the correct order. After BOSS has run you're mods are automatically sorted. You should then look at what BOSS outputs because it can warn you against many possible conflicts which result in crashes.
Kurtwk5
I use BOSS for skyrim and I know that it has the settings for fallout but every time I try tp use BOSS it tells me that there is no master list.
Paranoid23
If you install BOSS, the newest version, it automatically gets the latest masterlist. I would reinstall BOSS (you won't lose any mods or settings when you do this) because the problems described here are typical for running the game without sorting the mods first. bben46
Try LOOT - it is the replacement for BOSS by the same people http://loot.github.io/
7thsealord
A number of people swear by BOSS. Others have nothing to do with it. Had a bad experience with an earlier version of it myself, so I'm in the latter category. If it is just a matter of FO3's load order, the Description of this mod is arguably the most helpful thing you will find anywhere on the subject - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18721/? Paranoid23
You really shouldn't mess around with the load order yourself, unless you know what you're doing. BOSS is correct 99% of the time, recent versions always work as expected.

BOSS is correct 99% of the time, recent versions always work as expected. How about we agree to disagree, then? Using the notes I referred to earlier, definitely do make for a stable game. As the author of them points out, no matter how wonderful BOSS may seem to be, it does have its limits. Also I suspect that, even for the latest BOSS, one is well-advised to Mark One Eyeball Check the results rather than blindly trust it. To each their own, anyhow.
