Deleted1852400User
Well as the title probably explains, I don't know anything about installing mods for DA:O... Litterally... Nothing... So I tried to download the "Dragon Age Redesigned Version 6-5" mod, but for whatever reason I don't seem to have a program that can actually read the file (I don't know anything about computers either, sorry). After trying to download it a second time I get the little icon next to the thing that indicates that it'll run using uTorrent, but of course, it says it's an invalid torrent file, so I'm pretty certain it's not a torrent (Why it tried to run using uTorrent is a mystery to me...)And well, I've been looking around on the forums, and this website for a while now and I can't seem to find anything that may be able to help me here... I also tried getting the DAO-Modmanager from the bioware social network thingy, and it seems that it's impossible to read that file either... I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong/what's wong with my computer, without using caps or insulting me, so that I could actually try using a mod... Sebiale
That's quite strange. DAR 6-5 mods the game through the use of executable files. Just double-clicking on the files in the downloaded folder should set them running. Are the files listed as applications?
DarkeWolf
well, I dont know about the first one that you mentioned, but DAModder is compressed into a .7z folder. what you need is a program to handle the compression folders that some of these mods are stored in. a program like 7zip can handle most of these. www.7zip.comAfter installing a program like this, you then right click on the file, and have it extract the contents from the .zip .rar. .7z folder that it's in. Once that's done, you can use the extracted contents as they are intended. Tho, I should mention that .zip files can be directly drag and dropped into damodder. Also, I'm not sure about 7zip, but peazip can execute a .exe file like damodder from inside it's 7z archive. I dont recommend peazip to users that arent really familiar with working with compressed files tho as it's a bit more complicated than some of the other programs. Deleted1852400User
Well, Sebiale, I have no clue whatsoever what it should look like... So I'll just post a screenshot of what I have on my screen: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6674/28747743.png After that, I get a message saying that's an invalid torrent... And as for the zip thing, I'll go check that out, thanks.
DarkeWolf
Ok, yeah, thats why you're getting that message. You dont have any program on your machine that can handle .rar and .7zip. Once you get a program that can do that, like 7zip, you should be ok  Also- when you get messages like this, on unknown file extensions..... You can go to google, yahoo, bing, whatever, type that file extension like ".7z" (without quotes) and look it up to see what program is needed to run that kind of file or folder. There's also a site called whatis.com that is also very informative of things computer related like this.
