Making your own sounds - how?

I'm trying to replace the feralghoul's sounds with custom ones, but they aren't working ingame.

I created the soundfile in Audicity.

Export preferences is "WAV (microsoft) 32bit float

32000Hz, mono

Sounds saved in (with correct naming)

Data\sound\fx\npc\feralghoul

For example, one of the files I made is

common\fallout 3\Data\sound\fx\npc\feralghoul\foot\run\left\npc_feralghoul_foot_run_01.wav

(same for right and walking)

Yet ingame the regular sounds play. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to do something besides simply putting the files in the folder?

File attached should be correct one used in example.

NOTE: I am guessing wildly since I only mod for Oblivion...

My 1st guess would be that your game does not see any "replacers" because it sees the games content in the BSA files first and never loads the replacers. Make sure you are using archive invalidation for replacers.

Another way to test it out is by making a custom creature. Simply open the existing creature and give it a different form name which creates an identical version that is not referenced anywhere. Then change the specific sound FX and drop the creature in the gameworld at a specific location and see if it works then.
