AdamRundolf001
Ok, I am really confused, I have been playing oblivion for a while now and have never dealt with this before. Oblivion crashes when I just get on the bridge between IC Stables and Weye. I use to only be able to only get on to the bridge just before the first arch and then crashes. I tried using the obse.ini to create a crash dump file but it is never created. It only comes up with the "Oblivion has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution to your problem" or something like that. . . then it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly" and then says something like "windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I then turned off auto saves completely, got a little farther over the bridge. I have tried installing Oblivion Crash Prevention System, but it doesn't help. If anybody has anything that can help then they are most welcome.
discovery1
Ok, there are 3 areas in the game that stress the old game machine, the waterfront, anvil harbour and weye area. Unmodded there are usualy no problems but mod these areas and you are in a world of pain...the reason weye is such a pain is because it is pretty central and as your character moves around, the graphics card has a lot to deal with, i have tried 4 different mods which alter this area and they all cause slowdowns or crashes..have you modded this area? If not it could be a corrupt spawn, in which case ...ConsoleCoc centerWait 72 hours or moreConsoleSaveiniThen save the game and return via the map. This will reset all game spawns. It would be interesting to see your mod list and if you have a lot of generated lod which can slow the game down in specific areas, when in weye you have views to most of the mountain regions and the great forest as well as all the imperial city architecture. You can test this by walking backwards from weye to the imperial city and see if the game slows up or speeds up. Try and load a save from near the begining and see if that helps, corrupted saves are causes of crashes and stuttering in certain areas.
