DynamicApple
Hello there! I have been modding skyrim by loosely following the STEP guide. The problem I am now encountering is that I can't get the Skyrim Performance Monitor overlay to display in game. RIght now, it seems that it is still monitoring the data, as I can see it in the graphs when I exit the game, but ingame the overlay is not there. I've narrowed the problem down to being cause by ENBoost, which I installed according to the instructions on this page. I tried removing ENBoost and the overlay showed up just fine then. My guess is that the problem could be with the custom d3d9.dll that comes with ENBoost, because I know that Skyrim Performance Monitor doesn't play well with it. If anyone has an ideas as to why this is happening or what I can do about it, I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
MethosTR
Anything with an in-game overlay doesn't work at all with ENB. Even ENBoost. It has to do with the modified DX9 dll that it uses, which causes programs that inject themselves into the game (MSI, Skyrim monitor, Fraps, etc) flip out and cause a crash. Every time. The injector version of the ENB binaries do not use this dll file, so it should not cause crashing... But I don't know if ENBoost would work as an injector. I personally don't use ENB's as they make my laptop heat up like the surface of the sun.
DynamicApple
That's interesting. I suppose I will just have to find a way to work around it. Thank you for your quick response.
MethosTR
The only real way to really work around it is to not use the overlay, unfortunately.
camaro_69_327
Evga's PrecisionX (and by extension MSI afterburner) BOTH work with an ENB including ENBboost. Notice the Pink text upper left corner, that IS PrecisionX running with my ENB...>>PIC Just takes making a change in the RIVA turner settings, both MSI and EVGA use Riva Tuner Stats Server. SPM WITH ENB and Evga Precision also work using MO also..PIC SPM was on top of PrecisionX so i moved SPM to other Side...lol PIC Start SPM...set it to use MO as the launcher, set "Attempt support for custom d3d9.dll" to ON in SPM, Set ..> Combine TESV & ENBhost System RAM Make sure MO is not running. Start SPM....Click "Launch Skyrim" this will Launch MO...once MO is running Launch as normal "RUN" skse... Don't always believe what you read...Believe what you can see...these are NOT doctored...No Believers..i will make a Video. The FPS counter is even working now. EDIT:..And Yes this is the Wrapper version of ENB NOT the injector version. When I can find a way to help keep my laptop from heating up like an oven while running an ENB, I'll definitely have to try that.
