Quetzlsacatanango
Maybe nothing, I have never tried it mid game, I may have misled you. Someone else may have some guidance there.I always build a face in GECK and make it a preset so I hardly ever deal with the ingame thing.
lostami
aaah, i see. maybe i should do that as well, more options in the geck... can't figure out the the skin tones and shade options though.
Skotte
aaah, i see. maybe i should do that as well, more options in the geck... can't figure out the the skin tones and shade options though. If you duplicated a race you can copy/paste an npc's face in Geck's "Face Advanced" tab in the "NPC" window then just make it a preset or you could use >FaceGen Exchanger< to copy the player character appearance from one save to another
lostami
Perfect! thank you skotte! EDIT: Okay new issue is that when i switch to my new race my camra drops to about hip high. Also the face a made in the geck "that looks great" looks like holy hell ingame... all weird.. Anyone got some ideas on these issues? EDIT 2: The face exchange did not seem to work.. i am supposed to pick 2 save files right? EDIT 3:All issues fixed. #1:The camera issue was was because i had the height set to half what is was supposed to be.#2: The face looking crummy in game is because i forgot to make a preset for the race so it just sort of took the basic look of the race and *banned* it over.#3: The reason the face exchange did not work right was because the basic face structure of my new race was different from the "Caucasian" thus making it look horrible. I now have a fully working race thank you all for your help.
rickerhk
Okay the restart worked.I made the edits.. but now when i use the race menu and switch to the new race, my face is lost and goes to a default.I know i did something wrong. what is it? The custom race doesn't have any face presets, so you get the default. If you are going to go through all the trouble to re-create your face, do it in the Geck. Create a new NPC that has this new race selected, and check the box that says 'Is CharGen face preset'. Then go to the 'Face Advanced' tab and go for it. You can't get a Player face from a save game into the Geck, so you will have to go this route. Edit: Or use the workaround pointed out by Skotte to get your face from one save to the next. Skotte
@ lostami:Glad to see you were able to figure out the issues. I agree, seeing a face in GECK isn't a very good indicator of how it will look in-game. & I don't think there is a fix for that.
