ZareCograth
Well, there are several reasons for this. Your save game could be corrupt, and won't load ever(wrye bash might be able to fix it, not sure). Another reason would be mod conflicts in the area where the saved game was saved. Or if you uninstalled some mods it may require those mods, because its trying to load the mod for that area. To fix the later you maybe able to use wrye bash, but if you are going to uninstall mods, make sure you are in a house, cave, ect. that the mod doesn't effect and you'll have a better chance of it still working. Jenrai
Zare ain't wrong, but are you trying to load from an active game? You'll get that a lot if so. Particularly if your game is heavily modded and you're switching to a different charector, but you could even see it on Vanilla games rolling back to anb earlier save of the same toon... best bet is to try loading that save as soon as the game starts up if thats the case. If you are trying to load that save from the main menu, both Wrye Bash and OBMM have tools to manage your saves. Don't know about OBMMs but Wrye's lets you manage and change the mods your saves are dependant on. Usually, removing a mod wouldn't result in CTDs unless its something that changes your charector or the area you are in drastically or the mod itself is faulty. If either of those are the case, reinstall the mod, load the save and move your charector to a safe location (preferably one of your houses untouched by the mod and where there are no NPCs) and re-save the game. Then deactivate the mod again and see if you can load the save. If you can, remember to delete the old save (saves with numerous old/changed mod dependancies WILL become corrupt, thats only a matter of time) and make a new, clean save.If you haven't changed any mods, or none of the above helps, check the size of your save game file. Save bloating can prevent saves from loading. Wrye can fix that too. There are wildly differing opinions on whats acceptable and what's not when it comes to bloating, probably more dependant on individual mod builds and actual computer specs than anything else, but I would generally say less than 8MB is Golden, 8 - 12 is safe, 12 - 20 should load but will need de-bloating soon, and over 20 - 24 you're lucky if it loads, debloat it and do it now before it goes completely.
