deanoman
Hey All, I'm up to a bit in DA Awakening where I have to fight 2 dragon thralls... my character gets killed so quickly it is ridiculous.. Do dragon thralls have a specific weakness? My character is a wizard and i have Oghren with me too. Really annoying!
dontxhide
Do you mean the ones in the Silvertine Mines in the Wending Wood? I'm pretty sure you are so... I beat them on nightmare and here is how I did it. My duel wielding rogue solo'd one of them. She is VERY hard to hit and I rarely had to take any pots except for stamina. The other three characters (the two dwarves and the mage) I had bothering the other dragon. The mage threw out a heal every now and then. When the dragons flew up and away, then crash landed, I would find the one that had the less health and focus the three party members on it while I went back to solo the other one. Rinse repeat. By the time the first dragon was dead Ohgren and I were the only ones left standing. We traded off hostility and kept the health pots coming until we finished him off. If you are only fighting with Oghren and youself, a mage, that would be much harder. I would need to know what build you have your mage under, because when I went battlemage/natures vengence/arcane warrior with Anders, he was merely untouchable, but I didn't have him fighting the dragons. Either way. You can try: Ohgren needs to take ALL hostility if possible. Use threaten and every other threat inducing thing he has. Let him tank while you heal and do some damage when he is topped off. Should work? I should work nicely also. When the fly up however just make sure when they come crashing down try not to be near them, I think they do a load of damage.
DarkeWolf
I was using Ogrhen, Anders, Velanna, and myself, a dual wield warrior. earlier on in the mines, I did the puzzle so that you can get to the chest (its not very far from where you are held prisoner) and got the dragon slaying bow. (dont ask me how I solved it, I just kept flipping the switches back and forth, lol)I would have my mages switching off on blizzard, and cone of colds, with anders running the frost weapons spell. (They are immune to lightning and fire). Tho you could also use the other single shot cold spell, Winters Grasp. I dont use it, because for some reason after a few minutes of running heavy battles, that spell causes my game to crash for some unknown reason. When they would take off into the air, or I was getting hit hard, I'd switch over to the bow, using cold arrows. I'd had to go back and repeat that section of the mine, since my first run through glitched, and didnt give me my gear back, so I was prepared, and had most of my followers wearing Master Wade's gear (bought from Herren) the dragon and drakscale armors provide fire resistance. I'm also a nox player, so if you have any spells on your mages which can do constant damage, such as walking bomb, or area effect spells such as blizzard, miasma, whatever that death area spell is called (black cloud maybe?) and believe it or not, stinging swarm or w/e it's called (not the shapeshifting spell, its another one). life sipon can also be a boon. attacks that cause stun or paralysis is kind of a waste, as they usually resist it. Same with spells like disorient or misdirection effects. tho I will say that later on, those paralysis spells are REALLY nice against Armored Ogres. They seem to get hit by it for quite a bit of time.
1Monk
The way I do it is to have a mage with several "freeze" spells. that is: paralyze, CoC, petrify, paralyze rune, etc... (you should have at least 2).try to keep one dragon immobilized and concentrate on the other.
dree74
if you have blood magic, you can try blood control on one of them.
