Reiku
So, where to start: I've searched the forums, but can't find anything quite like what's going on here, and none of the commonly suggested fixes seem to work. I'm trying to help my friend, who's experiencing major and consistent glitches in Fallout 3. There's a lot of different problems, but the main ones are: > Game CTD's when attempting to enter Fall's Church through the door in the Marigold Metro Station, or upon entering any area with lots of supermutants. > Invisible Albino Radscorpions attacking in the wasteland. Can't be seen or targeted in vats, but spraying bullets when the crosshairs turn red does seem to damage them. Limb explosions leave visible, lootable pieces, and the red enemy arrows and name/health bars show up in the HUD, but the scorpions themselves are invisible, even after death. > Massive graphics glitches, with enemies appearing as red exclamation points--or huge piles thereof. Particularly certain types of feral ghouls and supermutants. > NPC's randomly falling over dead or walking through the air in Megaton. There are some other problems/weird behaviors, but these seem to be the main ones. I tried disabling all the mods and DLCs that were running. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to a location other than the "Program Files" folder, tried starting a new game and even tried moving the saved files to another computer than was running the same mods/DLCs without problem--the glitches continued. Not to mention I double checked the Archive Invalidation about a dozen times. At this point, my head's about to explode, if anyone can offer some suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. The only thing I can think of it that my friend's been using godmode and boosting her level above the usual cap with the console, (lvl 40~41) so maybe that's causing some instability. How it would be affecting the enemy textures is beyond me, though. The computers are: Toshiba Satellite L505D LaptopCPU: AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M300 at 2.00 GHzRAM: 3 GBVideo: ATI Mobility Radeon 4100OS: Windows 7 (32 bit) Gateway GM5626CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2 GHz eachRAM: 3 GBVideo: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GTOS: Windows Vista (32 bit) DLCs used (in load order): Operation AnchorageThe PittBroken SteelPoint LookoutMothership Zeta Mods Used (In rough load order, some variations tried): Fallout Mod Manager v9.15 Breeze's FO3 Males v1.6 w/ armor fix 2.2 & Point Lookout fix 1.0TYPE3 Base HD body w/ V2 Default Head, Raider Phoenix Body Pain & NOTRIMsmall optional textureDisarmed Slave CollarSexy Nurse Type VPlay_As_Alice hair/eye/ect pack *OR* Hair Pack 2.2 by YoshikinaKota (Problems first appeared while using alice. Another note is that I haven't been able to get the Kozaburo hair style to work in YoshinKota's hair pack. The version in the Play As Alice pack works fine, which is why we were using that one. When we switched computers, I had been using the YoshinKota pack instead, and upon loading my friend's save the face was radically altered. We exited fallout, disabled the YoshinKota pack and enabled Play As Alice, but the face was still altered upon reloading the save and none of the added hairs or eyes showed when we opened the race menu with the console. (I think the Raider and ReAnimated eyes did show, but none of the others except for the defaults.) One new hairstyle I didn't recognize did show in the list, but came out as a red exclamation point. We exited fallout again, disabled alice, and re-enabled YoshinKota--but upon loading found the same result. We exited again and I deactivated all the mods and reactivated them from scratch (using the YoshinKota pack this time), and the hairs and eyes were visible and usable though the saved character's face was still changed when we reloaded. So, yeah--any ideas?

Particularly certain types of feral ghouls and supermutants.just guessing but it really sounds like you missed installing a BSA file Thanks for the suggestion--I'll look into it. Alot of the problems seem to be caused by messing with the level caps in the console. At least I think so, though I haven't been able to test completely yet. To my knowlege, the only BSAs I have belong to the DLCs, and those *seem* to have installed correctly--but maybe something is messing with it without my knowledge. In all likelyhood, this is a variety of problems occurring at once. Hopefully I'll be able to track them down--any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Nihilisaurus
You install all your DLCs into /Data manually? As in copy across the ESMs and BSAa from where GFWL hides them? Because all the !s sound like typical microsoft messups, I remember MMM had a glitch where there were ivisible trogs like this, so I can only assume it's missing meshes which means missing/misplaced BSAs. Yeah, I dropped them in by hand. Weird that it f-ed up even outside the programs folder, and that the UAC or whatever didn't even give one of those annoying "We have disabled something you were trying to do because most of our customers can't be trusted to operate their own systems" messages. A friend of mine who's more adept with this stuff is offering to take a look and help me get it installed correctly. Most of the troubles seem to have been cleared up by my friend starting over and not using the console to break the level cap anymore. (She just uses god mode now, lol.) Still getting some weird errors and crashes though--such as the occasional NPC spawning somewhere they shouldn't be. She had the head guard from Tenpenny Tower show up in the Ghoul tunnels when she went to talk to them to try and broker a peaceful solution, and just now a brotherhood initiate showed up in the DC metro and started following her, claiming she'd saved his life. Dunno what that was about, sounds like a fragment of the Falls Church quest got activated in the wrong place or something... ...weird, since Falls Church was one of the places she couldn't get into without a CTD before.
