Branch of the tree of shades quest problem

This quite odd for me but I've run into a very highly annoying problem with Branch of the tree of shades quest thats part of the Shivering Isles main quest.

Basically I get to part where I have to fight my shadow-self, I beat her to the point where she should die from lack of heath but instead it tells me in the left hand corner that my shadow self has been knocked out....I've spent two days removing mods and doing this and that to try and find out whats wrong and why its not dieing. I've Google this problem and it seem I'm the only person who has this problem. Can anyone here please help me?

1 - install OBSE

 

2 - open console

 

3 - click on shadow self

 

4 - type in :

setrefessential 0

kill

 

5 - close console

 

 

just for reference : this doesn't happen in the game, so it must be caused by some mod, but the codes given should smack-it-up-side-the-head

 

BTW for clarity the command reads as Set Ref Essential and is one word with no spaces

oh thats the part we missed of that code =/ we tried for hour trying to get that code to work...lol, I'll give it a try and see if I can get past it thank you for the help.

 

Edit: I was unable to get the code to work even after installing OBSE

I have the solution to ur problem, i have had the same problem u had and i made a little mod for it.
