Monsters

Okay. I've seen in some mods people making atronachs out of everything or just changing the colour of a monster. How do you do that? Do you need to import the file to Blender or something or is there another way?

What i really want to know is how to change the atronacks, for example....i wan't a shoe atronach. How do you do it? Any guide would be awesome.

Also, in the CS when your adding a cave entrance or a door in the world. How do you make the whole world appear in the CS. Because those cells mean little to me. Because i don't know where i'm placing the stuff, and then i have to search for it on the whole damn world. Its really annoying. I bet there is a easier way but i just cannot find it.

Thx!

About the monsters:

If you want to change their skin, you don´t need to re-model it, you´ll have to retexture it.

1 _Extract the mesh and the texture using BSAcommander or any other similar BSA extracion program.

The mesh will be a .nif file in the meshes/creatures/frostatronach folder.

The texture will be a .dds file in the

textures/creatures/frostatronach folder.

2_ Convert the texture (.dds file) to a picture (.jpg or .bmp file) using some program like DDS converter 2. Now, it is time to play the artist and paint your new texture.

When your artist work is finished, change the critter skin. Here is a good tutorial:

But there are others... google it!!! :woot:

Now, about the world: go for the "cell view" window in the CS screen. In the upper box, there will be probably the "Interiors" choice checked. -Click on the arrow at its right and see your choices---ALL worlds from Oblivion are listed there. Select and highlight the worldspace you choose: Now, double-Click on it, it should appear in the render window.

Just take note of the cell from this world you are placing your stuff (e.g.: It is the -06; 09 cell from "wilderness" in the Tamriel world). The two numbers are on the right column from the table.

Thx!

And will this also work for the Storm atronach?(The one that breaks into 1000 pieces) If i wanna change that one that haves those stones. I want him instead of having stones, some shoes, or watermelons. Will this way of texturing also work on this atronach?

And thank you for the CS help. :)

No, re-texturing will only change the color. What you are willing to do is something far more complicated, I guess it would require some modelling and some scripting too.

I'm back again. Now that i got home and was able to actually try and do that in the CS set. But it wasn't quite what I meant. I was looking for a method in which I know where the cell is located in Tamriel. I know the two numbers are meant to give away their location, but I find it tricky to really pin-point exactly where the cell is located.

Is there perhaps a way to either see the numbers in game? So I can look for a location I like, write the numbers down and then later find it in the Construction Set. Or better yet, is there a way to load all the cells located in the World Space of Tamriel in the Constructio Set, and so looking for a location that suits my needs?

Anything that can clearify where the cell in which I'm editing is located, will help me greatly.

*Still is waiting for an aswer*

Well... err... :whistling: actually, there is.

When you open Tamriel world, the render window will show one cell--- but actually you can go *anywhere* in outdoors Tamriel, just move through the landscape with the arrow keys from the keyboard or the morse wheel.

The problem is... as you must have noticed... it is quite a large landscape to be explored in the render window, isn´t it?

My suggestions are:

1- Place your stuff near some kind of reference place.

How??

Watch the left table in the cell view window. For Tamriel world, the first cells, which are listed in alphabetical order, are: Abandoned mine exterior, Aerins camp, Aleswell exterior, etc, etc, etc...

What does that mean?? Those are the Tamriel areas nearby those references---Abandoned mine exterior, Aerins camp, Aleswell exterior, etc, etc, etc...

My suggestion would be to choose one of those cells, nearby one of those locations. E.g.: If you choose "Amelion Tomb Exterior", which is the 6th cell listed in the table, you will know: for the CS, you´ll double-click in the 6th cell in the table and the stuff you placed will be there. In-game, go for Amelion tomb and look around: if nothing went wrong, the stuff you placed will be somewhere nearby that tomb´s entrance.

Oh, you have not found all Oblivion´s location in-game and cannot find them in your map?? :yucky:

Use the TMM consloe code, or else, This mod should help:
