Throwable Blade Like Boomerang

I made a weapon that is supposed to be a throw able blade. I want to make it so that whenever you try to hit something it launches out and then comes out. I made a custom animation for it and I have the model set up I just need to set the way it holds and collision I want to know if it is possible. I saw a blade on the nexus that did something similar.It was a wrist blade Whenever you striked the blade would come out a couple of inches then go back in which is sort of what I want except a greater distance

 

As to the request part I was wondering if anyone knows how to make animations show in game.I have read all the tutorials on the wiki but they all relate to chracter animations and not something like weapon animations

Ok send me your animation, I will fix it, then I will tell you what you have done wrong.

It is possible, and actually it's really easy.

Use this: Unnecessary Violence.

There is no need to master it's script. With this you can throw any item (weapons, shields, and anything in your inventory). It add also a new combat system: fight with left hand, both hands and with kicks. Check the link if you want to learn more.

Now , do you know how to script it to only work when you are about to strike. In game it seems to play the animation all the time even when it is sheathed

Yes, the easiest way would be to borrow the Predator mod's script.
