Mission Bug: When The Vow Breaks // Rockshatterer

While playing Oblivion, I entered Fort Strand and killed Bahdarj (or something like that) the Contemptible. He dropped the "Rockshatterer." Like a fool -- I picked it up. Not once, but twice. I saw two versions of the item and thought "SCORE! Double cash! I can sell one!" I did not know quest items could not be vendored (Real smart, huh?) So I ended up with not one -- but two. I went to the NPC to finish the quest at the farm just north of Anvil (I believe) and she did not accept EITHER Rockshatterer. Back to the cave -- and one more Rockshatterer later... and she STILL will not accept it. So I'm stuck with an unfinishable quest and three two-handed maces with no value in my inventory.

 

For functionality purposes: Quest is "When the Vow Breaks", Item bugged is "Rockshatterer"

 

If anyone can offer any help or advice, I'd be your best freaking friend. Thanks.

You need to reload and do the quest from the beginning. Make sure to only pick up one Rockshatterer - if a quest item dupes, only ever pick up one, as two will invalidate them both, for some reason. ^^;

If you're in mid-quest, you can download a plugin to fix it here:

After you're done with the quest you can remove the plugin without a problem.
