Board games?

Hi,

I've been wondering for a while now, would it be possible to add playable board games to Skyrim?

The idea is, you walk into an inn and somebody challenges you to a game of, say, Nine Men's Morris or Chess or a game of Dice? Perhaps you could even play for money.

I have no idea about scripting, but if this where possible it would really add to the immersion of the game, don't you think?

Forgot to say, if this is in fact possible and a talented scripter would be interested, I'd help in any way I could of course!

I do believe its somewhat possible. though I doubt it'd be easy to get NPC to play it.

Why? NPC's aren't actual people with free will ;)

If you script a playable game with a human and a computer player, the NPC would just be the visual interpretation of the computer playing it.

I still don't see your problem. If a boardgame can be created via a script, a corresponding animation for a new NPC can be created aswell... I'm not excpecting the NPC to physically pick up a game piece and move it, just an animation that suggests he'd doing it. The piece can move by itself. Much like most NPC actions are animations that suggest something is happening.
