Charter DNS Hijack

Antigravitas

Recommended Posts

Myself and a handful of others are digging into reports of the ISP Charter Communications hijacking Bing toolbar search queries and redirecting them to their own Yahoo powered search engine. There might be problems with dozens of other paid redirects running through various internal DNS servers among our ISPs but that's another project. If you have been noticing this specific Charter Communications issue please either post here with your county and state and how long it's been going on or PM me with the information. Thanks!

By the way, to resolve this behavior get into your router settings and manually set the primary and secondary DNS servers to something like Google's [8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4]. Good night and good luck!
