NexTextGorilla
Hello, I am new here so please direct if I am posting in the wrong place, or if this has been discussed elsewhere, by some chance.I am wondering if there is a way to open a stack of items like a container & choose the amount that you want to take as opposed to having to pick up the entire amount. An example would be if I had 100 gold ingots sitting on a desk, as one unit, but did not want to pick it up just to grab one, then reposition it.Also, can anything skyrim related be discussed, within guidelines, here? Qustions etc. Or is it strictly Nexus Mod discussions? Thanks for any help.ntg

Quote I am wondering if there is a way to open a stack of items like a container & choose the amount that you want to take as opposed to having to pick up the entire amount. There is at least one possible way. Duplicate/copy an existing container, change the mesh to use the mesh of the desired object, place this new container where you want it. Now whenever you click on it, it will open a container rather than take the whole stack. One problem with that is that if the container were emptied it would still appear. You may not want that. The alternative is very similar, static object versions are created using the desired pick-up-able object and a trigger volume box converted into an activator. The trigger volume box is placed around the static object. The trigger volume box when clicked would have a script which opens a container associated with the desired object and holds the actual object that the player can take away. The same script would check the stored quantity and disable the static object when the container is empty. The trigger volume box would remain so that it could open the container again and re-enable the static mesh if more of the associated object is added. NexTextGorilla
IsharaMeradinThank you for your response. New to pc gaming so it is currently a bit over my head, but gives me some things to look into & think about.I was quite pleased with myself when I figured out how to place some candles on the ground in Whiterun were I usually store some smithing items ha ha.Is it possible to make this into a mod? Not sure the popularity of it, but who knows. Thanks again!
IsharaMeradin
It is possible to make almost anything into a mod if you are willing to take the time to figure out how to do what needs to be done. However, some things do run into limitations due to the game engine, scripting engine and/or your own capabilities. There are a number of player home mods that include some variation of what I outlined earlier. It is a fixed location setup and is not something that could or should be done "on the fly" anywhere within the game.
