In what order do YOU do the quests?

You start a new game and you want to complete all the quests.

And let's say you've already played most of the game so that this isn't your first time playing, and just exploring in some random direction (whatever looks interesting) doesn't work because you already know where most everything is.

-Which quests would you do first?

-Which quests would you save for last?

-Would you finish the guild quests before starting on the main quest and miscellaneous quests?

-Or would you clear the main quest before the others?

-Or would you just start in one city and try to do everything you can in that city (whether they are for the main quest, a guild, or other quests) before moving on to the next city and trying to do everything in that city.

-Start on one side of the map (like Anvil) and work your way across the map, or try to follow the main quest, but then stopping to clear side quests whenever you get near them?

-Clear out all the DLC quests first? (if you have any DLCs)

-Go do your mod quests first?

-Spin a bottle or sword on the ground and go wherever it points to?

Well, depends on the character I'm playing. I'm playing Titus Mede right now, (Future fourth era emperor "Infernal City") so I made him into a renegade outlaw knight, but then I made him take the holy road. But in between I did the main quest. Then I made him the madgod, following in Pelinal Whitestrake's footsteps of madness. Now I'm finishing up the fighter's guild quests, then the mage's guild quests, so I can rightfully rule all the legally sanctioned factions before claiming the Imperial Throne. If you read the Infernal City, (which I haven't) then you discover Titus Mede is the current emperor, by conquest. His son is Attrebus Mede I think, and he's a main character of the book. So it fits that the champion of Cyrodiil eventually DOES become the emperor (with a lfew trips to the testing hall of course!)

Well let's see, I prefer assassin/stealth characters at the moment so I begin with the DB quests. The brotherhood gives out quite a good bit of loot: armor, weapons: jewelry, attribute buffs, etc.

2nd questline is Thieves Guild.

At some point I'll start the Fighters Guild and Mages guild quests.

Also important first off is any side quest that yields decent loot. I go for the Escutcheon of Chorral early, head down to Anvil to find Fingleam, as well as any other mods I may have that add weapons. During this time I'll be working on marksman (stealth kills), alchemy (poisons and healing), and armorer (repairing enchanted items).

Finishing the main quest is last, although I'll go ahead and take Martin to the temple so I can close gates and get sigil stones/daedric loot. After I'm champion I'll head to Shivering Isles.

The order I do individual missions in is based on geography. I don't use fast travel (which changes my gameplay more significantly that I would have realized) so if I need to go to Bravil to get my next thieves guild mission, I'll wait until the DB sends me there and kill two birds with one stone so to speak. I'll also see if there's any caves or ruins I want to explore on the way to save myself a trip later.

I don't like any order to become routine, so depending of what type of character I play, on how I feel I might even skip the guild quests and MQ and explore the land. I often joined all the guilds, but never finished all the quests, or I only settled with one main guild. It's more fun like this in my opinion.

Sorry for bad

First to say, I always play Imperial male warrior class. First I finish Kvatch, then I go to each Mages Guild hall to be able to enter Arcane University, then I finish first three Fighters Guild quests, then I perform duties for Dark Brotherhood until I get the well key (which lets you to quickly exit Abandoned House), after that I do Armand Cristopher's (or however) tasks for the Thieves Guild. Now, I'm returning to Main Quest. I play it until I come to Aid for Bruma. In between all of this quest, I do some side quests, from both vanilla and custom mods. Now I go for Mehrunes Razor and after I take it, I'm traveling to Shivering Isles where I finish Main Quest first. When i'm done with SI, i return to Tamriel, finish the Main Quest and after that, I'm doing random quest. I must finish ALL QUESTS, always! These is not 100% order of quests, but mostly this is exact order of how I play.

Funny you should post this thred, because I'm about to do just this. I've just loaded Knights of the Nine, but I already finished the main quest and Shivering Isles, plus most of the guilds. My character is up to level 35, so all the loot is good now, BUT I'VE LEARNED A FEW THINGS!

First, I get into Shivering Isles early, level 1 to 3, and collect a bunch of maddness ore and amber. Who knows, maybe even finish SI early, since the rewards you automatically get throught the quest don't level up. THEN, pop back into SI once I'm already level 30 and get madness and amber weapons and armor made. Much better quality and power. :ninja:

Wait until level 20 to finish up the main quest, so the sigil stones are better.

I will definately not wait until level 30 to finish fingers of the mountain again. What good is a spell that can electrocute IC in one fell swoop if it takes 2400 mana to cast.

I think I'll finish DB and the Fighter's Guild early, too, so I can get some cool companions. Never had those before.
