The 16 planes of Oblivion.

Has anybody noticed the fact that theres really only two planes of oblivion you can visit in TES 4, The dead lands and the shivering isles?

YES, Technically we are able to visit others but they resemble Mehrunes deadlands oblivion.

I read about the different oblivion realms, its very interesting how in depth the elder scrolls story is compared to how playable it is in the game.

I'd like to make a mod with a modder, adding all these different realms, each one with a unique quest, as well as the ability to the find the daedric prince of this realm. (They would give you the quest)

Though i know nothing about modding, work i could help out with would be Audio files.

I can do custom music as well as vocal files, with effects to make them sound quite otherworldly to match the different Daedric princes.

If you don't know much about the TES lore but your a modder that would like to do this, go here:

http://oblivion.wikia.com/wiki/Oblivion

Their very descriptive of the different realms.

Each created realm would resemble the description, for example i had an idea for the Moonshadow realm of azura. We create a beautiful place, with buildings from the imperial city set, and many waterfalls, trees, flowers, etc.

BUT, when you enter it is scripted to begin a screen effect that blurs your screen a pretty large amount. In the moonshadow description, it is a one of the most beautiful places in existence, but mortals would go half blind from seeing such tranquility.

The only way to cure this would be doing a quest for Azura, where she would give you a spell allowing you to see her realm.

(Just ideas)

Anyway, if you'd like to do this with me please reply. :)

Or just a comment, thats fine too XD

Bye.

Deja-vu

I'd say, join up The Colored Rooms. (The other link is down for a moment.)

Unless you intend upon creating small 'planes', as basically the places that are shown aren't all of the princes their realms, just a simple (oblivion) 'plane' therefore just a part of it....it'll cost you a huge amount of time..and it'll have a high rate of failure.

We had someone ask this same thing not too long ago ( a couple of days?) and you'll hear the same thing they were told.

It's too much work.

A mod of this scope would take a ton of people to get it right, and get it released within a reasonable time-period... and we're not professionals like the Bethesda team are. Most mods of this scope never work out, sadly. As cool as it would be, I can't see anything like this coming to fruition any time soon... at least, not before the next big Bethesda game (TesV? FO4? something else?).

However, go with what you can. The Colored Rooms (Vagrant0's mod, I think?) attempted to recreate one of the Daedra realms, and he kinda-sorta got it up, but couldn't keep people around long enough to finish it. That's what happens with modders. We're not paid for what we do... something interests us and we go for it, but life or sometimes lack of interest down the road get in the way and people drop out... projects die. I could point out half a dozen mods that attempted to do major things... but failed.

Not saying don't try... Gods know I've been working on my own mod for almost a year now and it's hardly what I'd call "extensive" but it's /all/ my own work... no one's helped me in the modding process itself. Oh sure, some have giving me advice and helped me with troubleshooting stuff here and there... but they haven't officially helped me on the mod itself, so I guess I feel an attachment to it.

If you want to go for this though... start small. Don't try to make all 16 realms right away... start with one. Don't try to do two or three... just one, then go from there AFTER you get the first one COMPLETELY finished. Apocrypha, or the Hunting Grounds, maybe. Quagmire would be fun, but would require a ton of custom meshes and models and textures.

YES, Ive heard of the colored rooms mod. Unfortunetly it is one realm of oblivion, im looking for creating all 14 that were left out. Yes, it'd take alot of work but im not looking to create a huge world like they are in the colored rooms. Each realm would provide a decent amount of game play, but not so much that its like the shivering isles expansion.

Thanks forthe advice. :) Thing is if i were to create Quagmire itd probly just be a very horrifying animation, not a playable realm. There isnt much to play there.

I'd really like to Apocrypha, and Moon shadow. My idea for moon shadow was when you entered it was scripted to activate another mods effect, Inhebiration. Where you can get drunk and your screen becomes blurry.

I dont know much about the TES construction set, but is there a random book placer?

If so Apocrypha would probly take not much work as the other realms.

Sounds like your pretty devoted to your mod... If you were wiling to teach me how to use the construction set, thatd be GREAT. Please get back to me on that. The tutorials arent for me so please dont even mention them. Im more hands on, one on one tutor.

Also, you won't be teaching somebody whose weak on computers. Im a quick learner and im pretty good on the computer, i just need help using the Construction set.

if you are looking to make a mega mod, i suggest looking up morroblivion. they could use some help. you can find them on google.

Ive heard of them. im completely uninterested in that project. Though the morrowind story was good the world itself sort of bored me. I'd prefer to make the oblivion realms. ^.^

Not sure how much I could teach you really. Sure, I can show you where to find stuff, how to set up quests and such, but beyond that it's mostly just poking around. Unless you're talking scripting... I can help with that. I'm not the best scripter here... but I'm far from the worst. I dunno, we'll see. Shoot me a PM sometime.

I'll admit, you've an interesting concept... but like I said, don't PLAN on making all of them... do them one at a time until they feel perfect, then move on. Trying to make them all at the same time will get you no where, and cause you to fail.

Moonshadow has already been done.

Well, half done, anyway. It needs finishing. It looks great, but is kinda dumb, too. The portal to Moonshadow is next to the Azura shrine, for example, which is convenient for the priests but seems a bit lame to me. Azura's tower is cool, but the surrounding houses of the silver city are cheydinhal-style instead of original.

Anyway, given the chance I would just grab that mod and fix/finish it. The color & lighting are fine as is, and the blurry thing? To be honest, I think the blurry thing would seriously just annoy the players more than anything else.
