dmxdex2020
Hi guys. My specs are. Core i7 @ 3.8 for some reason if i run this game maxed out at stock which is 2.6 i can lose as anything from 10 to 20 fps. 4870x2 6gb ddr3 ram asus xonar dx sound card. Now i did have stutter issue which stopped me from playing the game i however sorted them out with the stutter remover which kills most stutter leaving a tiny bit. Ony problem i have is in certain areas were fps will just randomly fall to as low as 45. If im in a city with shadows all the way up fps can go as low as 35 which becomes a slide show. Why do i get the sudden drop in fps with nothing going on and why does shadows cripple my system when my system should rape this game? i had streamline on my system i just dont understand how to edit it though. Fonger
If im in a city with shadows all the way up fps can go as low as 35 which becomes a slide show. interesting you can see the individual frames at 35 FPS PAL television is shown all over Europe at 35 FPS And USA (NTSC) is even slower. Does watching TV give you intense headaches? as far as editing streamline it comes with a rather extensive readme - detailing how to massage its parameters. bben46
Actually, NTSC is 30 FPS and PAL is 25. But PAL makes up the difference by sending more lines per frame 625 vs 512 on NTSC. So even at 45 FPS you are much better than standard (non HD) TV. What you notice is the sudden changes in FPS. If you could lock the FPS at a fixed value, 40 would be great. But when the FPS suddenly changes from 50 to 40 FPS you will notice a change. The stutter can also be reduced with mods such as quiet feet complete or by reducing the video resolution. However, with your specs there should be very little stutter at all - if any. Reducing the int and ext shadow bars helps alot, i have read that the shadows are demanding in this game.
Fonger
The stutter is not too bad until i use stutter remover.http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23208 Oblivion Stutter RemoverThis is compatible with everything except earlier versions of itself. The only caveat is that Streamline (and other mods that monitor FPS) will not be able to accurately measure FPSes outside of the target range set by this plugin (10 to 30 by default) So what frame rate have you set OSR to strive for? bben46
On the shadows, Self shadows is about useless. it only shows when you are looking at yourself. and puts shadows on your face. Internal shadows can help some, but will not really be missed much. Outdoor shadows can be set fairly low - do you need to see the shadows of every NPC within 100 yards? if you scale it back it will only show shadows of the closer NPCs. Shadows on grass will not be missed either. Play with the shadow settings some to see what they look like. You might like fewer shadows better.
