Brinnus
HI all! i finished DAO 2 times, with a mage and with a rogue now i am playing with a warrior with 2h weapons, but for some reason the item mods i used on the mage and rogue are not working with the warrior (i created it some days ago) and with all the new char i crate. I installed the Grey Warden Runic Armor and created a new Character but i don't have the armor in the inventory, i reloaded the game, i turned off the mod loaded and then i turned it on but nothing, i unustalled DAO+A and then i reinstalled DAO+A. The only strange thing is that all the mods are working with my old characters, all created with DAO before the 1.03 .
DarkeWolf
Ok, it could be two issues here. Either one of them, or a combination of both.1) You're having savegame bleed-over. The mods are reading that the items have already been given to a character, and so are not giving it.2) Patch 1.03/Awakening is BLOCKING these mods. 1) To see if this is the issue, go to documents/bioware/dragon age/characters. find the folders for all of your characters there. Cut and paste the folders for all the characters, except the new one, to a different area of your computer. (I recommend to a cd/dvd or removable drive like a sd card or usb pen drive, just to have them as backups) Uninstall the mods having issues. (Not deactivate..uninstall) Then open the game, on the character having the issues. Create a NEW savegame and name it something that you havent ever used before, like Clean Save One, or w/e. Close the game again. Reinstall the mods having issues. Open the game, open the cleaned save, force load, and see if they show up. 2) Because of issues with some of the dlc items causing graphics issues in awakening, the game actually BLOCKS some of these items from loading. This includes DLC items, items that use the Mesh for those items, or have NAMES that are similar to those items. Now, the intent of this was to keep them from loading into awakening. BUT, they screwed up, and it blocks them in ALL the game. The grey warden runic is one such mod, as it uses the same mesh as the warden commander armor, and has the warden name in it. I currently dont know of any news that bypasses this for items from mods. So, that leaves you with 2 choices. A) Be forced to play without these modsB) Completely uninstall the game, and all of it's registry entries, and reinstall, patching up to only patch 1.02 and having to do without awakenings, until you're ready to take that character there. (there's a cheat using winter forge where if you modify the item on the forge, you can transfer it with your character over to awakenings. BUT, this doesnt work to keep the patch from blocking the mod load.) cc cleaner is a good one to use to clean out the registy entries. its free, too. www.ccleaner.com (I also recommend their product, defragler for defragging your hard drive) I REALLY, REALLY hope that 1) fixes your issue. Because from my own personal experience, #2 is a pain in the rump. Especially since you can only install the game 4 times before your key goes kaput. Kaerar
Actually there is a way to do it without removing the reg key for your game (therefore avoiding losing an installation, which they should patch out anyway seeing as it's an F***ing single player game). Basically work out which key it is using CCleaner or just basic Regedit and delete all but that reg entry. Aside from that he has installed the 1.03 patch. Personally I haven't had a problem with it, but I have got a problem with stupid AI in Awakenings. Probably because I have a ton of mods installed and I don't think they all play nice. No major probs in the OC but in Awakenings, the AI doesn't react or attack. I can kill them with no repercussions. Going to have to work out how to meld all these damn mods together so I can have a super mod that installs the whole lot, either that or work out how to merge them all manually. Not looking forward to it as I have upwards of 50 mods installed :o

Basically work out which key it is using CCleaner or just basic Regedit and delete all but that reg entry. Has that been tested, or proven to work? That sounds backwards to me. The registy key stores installation information. Especially in cases of shareware, where it stores the date you installed, and counts down till it expires. Why would leaving it in, not count against your # of installs since thats part of whats counting how many times you have installed it? Also, if the installer finds a particular reg key, it could determine that the game is still installed, and refuse to proceed.I'm not arguing that it couldnt work, depending on the key. But it doesnt make sense to me. Has it been proven to work, and which key is it? Also, dont hold your breath for them to patch that out. EAgames are a bunch of anti-piracy nazis. I've had three new characters since installing awakening. Every single one of them had issues with blocked mods. and 1) didnt fix the issues, but 2) did. Going to have to work out how to meld all these damn mods together so I can have a super mod that installs the whole lot, either that or work out how to merge them all manually. Not looking forward to it as I have upwards of 50 mods installed :o damn, and peeps say that I"VE got a lot of mods, lol. Meh, when I had to uninstall from Awakening, I added all of mine from their folders in addins and override folder into one zip folder. when it came time to reinstall, I just extracted them in.
