pob255
Which is better? clean or rusty? http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i45/pob_aka_robg/fallout3/em2_rustskin01.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i45/pob_aka_robg/fallout3/em2_rustskin02.jpg
Nihilisaurus
looks about right IMO. Don't drop out on detail with the sights, especially seeings as this is the kind of gun that just has to be RH_Ironsights compatible...

Don't drop out on detail with the sights, especially seeings as this is the kind of gun that just has to be RH_Ironsights compatible...Ummm I guess you't talking about this mod http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6938 I'll look into it. I've not downloaded many mods as of yet, I'm still playing through the original and additional content before I start adding more.I have looked at a few, just not this one yet. pob255
Well I downloaded the mod, however in the mass of files I had in the data folder I couldn't tell exactly what had been changed so I could adapt the models to RH_ironsights.So I decided to delete out all the files from my data folder and reinstall RH_ironsights so that was the only thing there. Now GECK will not work, I just get a window poping up saying "Garden of Eden Creation Kit has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."Uninstalled and reinstalled GECK, still happens. :verymad:
pob255
Sorted out my GECK, had to totally reinstall FO3 I don't like the idea of an Iron sight, too backwards looking, so I used a gutter sight instead  Umm I was going to say "don't know what a gutter sgiht is?" see for yourself and attach the zip, yep the EM3 should now be packaged ready to be used as a RH_ironsights weapon, ie with that mod. However the zip is 592kb and it says it's too big to upload  Errr ok how do I somehow upload this for people to look at? pob255
I figured it out  You can now get a fully RH_ironsights compatible EM2 5mm assualt rifle here. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12224 Should work with or without RH_ironsights Please give it a whirl and let me know what you think. pob255
Ok I have a handle on the shineyness issue, I forgot to setup the alpha channel on the normal map correctly  After some tinkering I've got it pritty much sorted, however it's shown up a couple of faluts with my UVmapping, as I never layed it out with normals in mind, so I also need to tweak that as well. A new version will be up in a couple of days.
pob255
Ok this thread is sort of turning into my ramblings now but what thet heck. I'm leaveing the EM2 as is now, unless someone reports any problems with it. I'm moving back to the rest of my ideas for making Red Coats into a faction. First thing a helmetI came up with a rough sketch for what I wanted, a sort of roman-esk look with an inverted shield crest (like the fireman helmet) and a transluent visor. For a base mesh, I took the female metal helmet and the vault security helmet, ripped chunks off them and mashed them together, then added/altered bits to fit my concept. Here's the result http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i45/pob_aka_robg/fallout3/redcoat_helmet.jpg Still un-UVmapped and untextured atm. I've also started a side project, a schematic (ie you make it out junk) hand held flamer http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i45/pob_aka_robg/fallout3/whiskey_flamer.jpgCheckerbords bits are junk objects with only minor changes, coloured bits are fully my own additions to make it into a more cohesive weapon.Things I've used: Paintgun - main body/grip Coffeemug - muzzle heat shield and mounting point for . . . Pilotlight - for ignition Whiskey bottle - for magazine Scrap metal - for verious Pipes & cogs I just need to add some wires and duct tape now
Rabbit1251
Ok this thread is sort of turning into my ramblings now but what thet heck. Truth be told I'm getting more pleasure from your "ramblings" than I do from most others finished products. I'd like to see that very first offering, the British Redcoat, offered as a mod sometime. That's the one that made me a fan of yours. The other offering are exciting as well. Your new helmet would look nice paired with the jacket. You seem to be full of imaginative ideas mixed with a beginner's talent to put them together. Well done, Sir. Well done!! Rabbit
