Rafael_mui_keif
Hello there oblivion players...I was ripping apart WorldBuilder, when I found extremely interesting line, with script "player.setfactionrank XXX Y",where xxx is faction name, and y is a number/rank... I tried this in game via console, but with no luck...Perhaps someone here knows how to operate it... Good luck to us all....
MiNalien
WHY do you people pay $50-$60 dollars for a game, only to go CHEAT in it!? That command is not a console function, and is only accessible through scripts in the game. Advancing your rank in this manner would do you no good anyways, it would not further your quests nor allow you to gain any experience.

Killians5
settle....no flaming..... lets all get along and all that happy fun stuff. I understand where he doesnt like cheating (true role playing should tell you that if you dont enjoy for instance the Fighters Guild then you just dont join, not cheat your way to the top) but you are correct you can do whatever you want with your game (even play frisbee with the cd if you are so inclined to do so).... From reading the forums and having PC games that are able to be modified, I would say hes right its a script edit not a console command.
Omegared99
Just to be helpful the name is not really the name its a hex code for the guild so it would be more like player.setfactionrank 00022296 9 9 is max rank 00022296-mages guild this will work ingame

m2pt5
Thieves Guild seems to have a hex code of 00024164, according to the Talk page on the SetFactionRank command at the official CS wiki.
Vagrant0
For the record, setfactionrank as a console command is useful for debugging modded NPCs that use factions to determine interactions. Also nice to just screw around with the AI. For instance... Target Martin and type "setfactionrank 0003AB88 0". Or "setfactionrank 00086577 0" on anyone inside the city to see the guards respond. Just remember to set it to -1 when you're done. But mostly the consol command is meant for debugging. And real cheater would just make a mod. You can find the hex values for anything with the CS. Rather than posting several times asking for a value, or surfing cheat sites trying to find something, you could simply look it up. Who knows, from you looking at stuff, you might even be tempted to try making a mod of your own.
