Ardryll
So my laptop has about 8GB of RAM, and I realize that Skyrim only uses around 2 GB. My problem is that I booted up Skyrim and noticed that it was suddenly was lagging. Checking my task manager, it said Skyrim was only using 850MB of RAM. How do I fix it? FluffyHuggableBatPony
what is your cpu and its speed? also what is your video card and its vram amount? these are things we need to know to be able to help you. also are you using enb's? http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1592053-how-to-ask-for-help/ refer to this while asking for help with future problems okay :)

GazzTempest
Try disabling your ENB, even then with an Intel HD 4000 you may still lag without running on low settings. Edited July 27, 2014 by en3raider
Ardryll
But here's the catch, it was running around 30 frames with no problems before, for some reason Skyrim is using less than half of the RAM it's supposed to.
FluffyHuggableBatPony
the ENB could still be lagging your game. also your CPU might be bottlenecking.
Ardryll
What do you mean by bottlenecking?
FluffyHuggableBatPony
bottlenecking means is if one component is weaker than another, lets say the graphics card is bottlenecking the CPU. for gaming then the experience is hindered. The CPU can do its task, but the graphics card is so weak that it can't render the graphics. For you it means that your CPU is more powerful than you GPU in this case. Edited July 29, 2014 by leahcim118
Ardryll
Hmm, makes sense, but it doesn't explain why I could play perfectly fine with my settings before and now its almost unplayable :/
FluffyHuggableBatPony
are there any other resource heavy mods you have loaded? also what settings are you running the game at? Edited July 29, 2014 by leahcim118
