TodaY Posted April 19, 2010 Share Posted April 19, 2010 I really like the crypt idea - I'm playing a thief, and while I understand there can't be much of a treasure in the public area, maybe we could make a new challenge for thieves by making a non-public area behind the memorial one? A heavily guarded one, where you really need your skills to be at their best? In my opinion there wasn't much to do for thieves anyway... I say they'd keep the crypt closed so it doesn't get defiled. Anyway I think this is an exceptionally good idea, especially because lately I have been thinking of and idea for a Blades-based mod that would make Cyrodiil more-Samurai / Tokugawa culture-oriented; all of the cities would just be small farm towns and the Imperial City would be the Fiefdom. So, in order to gain access to the city, you'd have to become a Daimyo (ruler of a province) or Daimyo's servant, a Samurai (The Blades). Well, some of my ideas: 1th: Like, being mentioned, Emperor's Funeral, but what im talking about is big... probably too big to be made, but too much is better than too less, so here we go: The emperor's coffin will be carried by Blades through the IC, along with his sons Coffins. Maybe the inhabitants of the IC would stand next to it and watch while it is being carried, like when you go out to the big battle of Bruma, when the inhabitants stand and watch at you? The Blades will carry the Coffin in to the Palace, and then it'll be closed for half an hour, and then the Emperor and his sons will be Lying in State(Lying open so you can watch them) inside the Palace, and the ICers will get in and watch, and pay their respect. After one day, the Coffins will dissappear and the Emperor's and his sons graves will be added to the graveyard of the Palace District. Adding some Black Horse Couriers and Propaganda, as mentioned, would be cool to do too. Maybe adding some Civilian unrest? More guards patrolling? Germandeathkittiez Posted April 24, 2010 Share Posted April 24, 2010 A curfew might be annoying because it would just cause another too-easy way to get arrested... like you just wait outside and all of a sudden it's 10 PM and the guards get you. I like the idea of the city being closed off completely, maybe with exception to the Waterfront or Market District, or maybe just the Palace District would be closed off. Or maybe something more specific like the IC is closed off to outsiders, but citizens are allowed to stay there, seeing as they live there. Outsiders found in the IC would be arrested, but other than that I don't think the Guard would crack down on rules toward citizens, because that would just become a distraction from the real problem. I like the idea that you have to join the Blades to get in there, or you could become a citizen (buy a house) but it sure is a bad time to become a citizen. Maybe for a neutral non-law abiding (Thief) character could join the Thieve's Guild and that guy in the Waterfront gives you some kind of key to a secret entrance, and then maybe there could be some places for thieves to hide out and maybe cover up their identity in order to stay hidden from the guards... (stealing a person's keys / clothes persay?) but that's kind of taking it to the extreme. And if you're evil, you could join the DB and they give you access (like at the level at which you get the key to the well).
