Jet pack script looking for a model

I know there was some interest for a jetpack in Fallout 3 at one point so i threw together a quick script to test things out, here are the results.

As you can see it works pretty well. I am able to fly across the wastes effortlessly and even shoot from the air and use VATS. Getting a decent looping sound is a problem though unless one can be attached to the model. I know in Oblivion some models had sounds that you could activate with script commands by calling playgroup.

If someone could help making a model and rigging it, it would save this simple script from just being a personal toy for my games. I've also considered making it some kind of levitation device that uses a superconductor magnetic field of some kind, and just attaching the script to some power armor, but personally I like the back pack idea as I'm not forced to use a specific armor to fly.

Anyway thoughts, suggestions, whatever are welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Well, there is the Boba Fett mod for Oblivion that you could use in Fallout 3.

toxa01 was going to port over the armor in this mod but I don't think that's happened yet.

That's some really nice armor, and other than the helmet it actually looks like it would fit in well with the game. I really want something that only takes the back add-on slot though so it can be used with any armor, and doesn't force the player to wear any particular armor. The jet pack part of it could probably fit the bill though if the missile could be removed.

One thing I thought about was adapting the Mr. Gutsy model to use as the jet pack by removing all but the motor assemblies. It already has some sounds associated with it I think, and the motors have an effect. I looked at it in blender, but really couldn't figure out what I was doing :(

Upload the NIF model and DDS texture and I'll see if I can do something about that. I have about 15 minutes to mess with it later today but that's about all I have. Upload to MediaFire and PM the link to me.

I may be able to have someone rig up a model for this. No promises, but I'll try.

I'm reasonably sure I can make a looping sound for it, too. Again, no promises, and I'm using the laptop for a month so it'll be a while, but I'll try.

Thanks guys, any help is great.

LHammonds: I'll send you a pm in a few minutes.

Here is a model with picture that is a pretty simple jetpack that would work nicely.

It's pretty low poly, but perhaps it could be improved or give someone inspiration. I don't think the handles are necessary as it would require an animation. The rest is nice though, quite simple and convincing.

If a model is to be created from scratch, I'd recommend making a 3-point system which would seem more realistic for hovering rather than a 2-point system which is more typical of a rocket booster system (for going in a single direction)...besides, you could "borrow" the fire animations from Mister Gutsy's jetpack.

I sure would like to "jump" on this mod but I simply don't have the time (other obligations)...and not having Fallout 3 installed is a bit of a show stopper too. hehehe.
