Why do they have to choose now to do make such a remake? Hollywood today is bereft of talent and all original thought.

(Seriously, they are making a 'Stretch Armstrong' and a 'Monopoly' movie)

If only an independent company was making it!

Even good actors are degraded by studio editors and producers in most modern films.

@Sly

Yeah, that was pretty much reaction.

I hope they cast the others better.

The likelihood of that seems low, sadly.

They way Hollywood seems to work right now is they take an idea, any idea at all, pick a category it falls under, pick a topic relevant to today's target audience, and then change whatever they think needs to be changed to fit those criteria. Then add a liberal amount of CGI.

That actually does look interesting. It's all computer generated, it seems?

Imagine what might happen if CGI became easier to generate. If an independent filmmaker could sit down at a program and actually make a passable film. Movies might actually be a form of art again.

The trouble with independent films is there production values are so low. But if all the sets, actors, special effects were done in the computer, that money could be used a lot more effectively. (That assumes either the filmmaker can do it himself, somehow, or he meets someone who can do it who doesn't charge an three arms and a leg.
