stebbinsd
I like to start combat off - when my enemy is at a distnace - with a bow and arrow. Then, as the enemy closes in, I switch to dual-wielding maces. This, however, requires that I have two separate hotkeys: One for my bow, and another for my shield. Wouldn't it be nice if I could just have one hotkey for both of them? The hotkey would have a "primary" function and a "secondary" function. By default, the seocndary function would be to simply undo the primary function (like it currently is). With weapons, this would simply unequip the weapon and leave you unarmed. However, you could set the primary function to "equip bow" and then set the secondary function to "equip mace" (note: When switching between one-handed and two-handed/archery, the weapon or shield in your off-hand stays equipped for hotkeying purposes). Then, if I press that hotkey, I would instantly switch back-and-forth between bow and right-handed mace. For a mage character, imagine your off-hand going from "mage armor" straight to "ward spell." In your right hand, you go from "soul trap" to "incinerate," and then back to soul trap again, so you're ready for your next battle. Combine this with "Hotke Your Gear" by PirataBonifacio, and your game will be a convenience MACHINE! Any takers?
Thicketford
Maybe I'm not understanding you fully, but doesn't SkyUI have hotkeys that work in a similar fashion? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863/? Another main feature of the new the favortites menu are 8 customizable item groups. These groups are accessed via a slot bar at the bottom of the favorites list and managed directly in the menu. What makes them useful beyond enabling extended categorization is the "Group Use" command. This processes each item in a group depending on its type:Armor, clothing and accessoires are put on.Potions are consumed and poisons are applied to the current weapon.Weapons, shields and spells are equipped, with full support for dual wield combinations.A group use can also be triggered with configurable hotkeys from outside the menu.User-enchanted (if uniquely named) and tempered items are supported.
