Sylom
Hello, fellow readers. Well, I'm currently working on an update for my mod and... well, I've stumbled on some issues. 1) I tried to put a part of Geonox's Restored Riot armor inside Fizz's TS outfit. The thing is, clipping happened. So I opened the mesh with Blender, moved the nodes so it overlapsed the armor and copy-pasted the new jacket in Nifskope. This is how it looks like in Nifskope :http://i.imgur.com/YCyqO8k.pngNow the same armor, but with the GECK :http://i.imgur.com/H0QElUt.pngYay, too bad I don't want to have a flying squirrel NPC. Anyone knows how to fix this? 2) Everytime I pack a BSA file, the voice files are no longer recognised by the game. Is it normal? Is there a workaround apart from not packing the voice files ? 3) The last issue I have is with the permission system here on the Nexus. Several questions came through my mind, especially with a lot of old files not having an updated version of the Perms tab :- If a modder's ressource is open for everyone for Fallout 3, is it also open for New Vegas?- If someone ported a FO3 mod to New Vegas, is it okay to use the mod's ressources for New Vegas without asking for permission from the guy who made the original FO3 mod (like some kind of "universal" permission) or do we have to ask it again?- If a modder doesn't reply to a permission pm, what kind of policy do we apply on this site? "If he hasn't answered in x days/weeks/months, you can use it by stating that he can remove the files from my mod if he's against it" or "No permission, no use"? This question also applies to Oblivion/Skyrim to New Vegas ressources conversions. Thank you for reading this, and sorry if some of my questions seem weird. But I'd rather ask than do something wrong.
M48A5
You know the answer: "No permission, no use" See: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1909719-how-are-file-permissions-handled-if-theres-no-way-to-contact-the-author/?hl=%2Bpermission&do=findComment&comment=16551274 As for the problem with the coat, did you parent the added coat to the existing armature and then do a bone weight copy? Sylom
Ah, shucks. I thought it would be fine, but... oh well, farewell Super nes... Thanks for the clarification, anyway. As for the coat... err, I'm sort of a newbie in Blender, so no I only moved a few nodes on an existing and working coat. I don't even know how exactly I'm supposed to do what you're saying. Edited August 1, 2014 by Sylom
M48A5
A tutorial on parenting and bone weight copying: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40227 (Main file flagged as adult). Scroll to the bottom of the download page and there is a tutorial for adding bounce. Download it and there will be instructions on how to parent and add bone weight in blender. One thisn the author left out was when you open Blender, you will start with the cube, light and camera being displayed. You should press the "'a" key twice, once to clear the object selected and again to select all. Then press "m" to move the selected object. A dialog box will appear with a layout of available pages where you can move the selected object. Left click in one of the boxes and left click "OK". This will clear your display. Then just follow the tutorial on how to parent and bone weight. There are also some good tutorials here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45444
