ub3rman123
I'm trying to create LOD for a worldspace, and I've followed the directions step by step in the LOD tutorial at the CS Wiki. Here's what I got the first time:http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot2.jpg?t=1271470936 Purple in a ring around the player. Next I changed the name for the texture from 16781011.00.0.32 to 16781011.00.00.32. This is what it turned into:http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/ScreenShot3.jpg?t=1271472399 A ring of black, then a ring of purple around that.Does anyone recognize what I've down wrong/how to fix it? Vagrant0
Might be because you have the textures screwed up somehow. Looks like the normal map is being used as the texture for some reason.
ub3rman123
No, the normal maps definitely aren't it.. I looked at the stitched together texture of the partials.. Should it look like this?http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/ub3rman123/1678101100032.jpg?t=1271551148
ub3rman123
While I've got this thread open.. How does one make it so that an NPC cannot equip weapons? I'm trying to make some werewolves and they keep on running for the nearest silver dagger. Also, is it possible to make a screenshot of an entire area (For mapmaking purposes)? The zone I've made is around the size of Pale Pass, and I'm considering just putting the uGridsToLoad setting to hard-drive frying levels and taking a screenshot. If there's a subfolder for partials, delete it and try generating again. If you're going to generate LOD textures, DO NOT SAVE THE MOD AFTERWARD. This is because generating LOD textures causes the CS to visit every cell within that quad, turning your 20kb worldspace to a 20mb worldspace rather quickly. The LOD files are not defined anywhere within the mod, so nothing needs to be saved. When generating your LOD textures, turn off the bright light, turn off markers and light markers, and press shift+C to hide buildings. Wait for it to completely finish a quad before looking at the texture, chances are that the actual part which relates to a small worldspace will be just a corner of the overall texture. As far as a map goes, for worldspaces which are smaller than 30x30, you shouldn't even bother. The reason being that a world map at that scale is nearly impossible to line up and doesn't do much better than the auto-generated local map. If you don't want to have the normal map shown, you can always use a blank parchment image for that worldspace. For larger worldspaces, you can usually make a decent map by taking all the LOD textures (taken with water enabled so you have a clearly defined shoreline), and use this as a template for a map of your choosing. However, lining the damn thing up is an art that even I have not had much luck with. For your werewolves, give them a hand to hand skill above 50 and 0 blade/blunt skill. They still might pick up and use a weapon if they find something really strong lying around, but this should be fairly rare. ub3rman123
LOD: I tried regenerating it; it still isn't working. Just purple and black. The decision to use a weapon is based on skill level? I can just attach a script on them to lower their weapon skills to zero on loading then.
Vagrant0
You might want to give TES4qLOD a try then. It might not work as well in some cases, but should give you an image good enough to adjust with a graphics program of your choice.http://projectmanager.f2s.com/morrowind/Home.phpThe gui can be downloaded herehttp://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/thread.php?postid=149424
ub3rman123
It works! It's beautiful! I'd give you a kudos or a hug, but as neither is possible, I'll have to settle with my profound thanks.
ub3rman123
I've found a solution for the werewolf weapons. I've taken the human skeleton, and placed it into the Xivilai folder along with the werewolf suit. Now my werewolves are technically werexivilai with a human's skeleton. Now I can just toggle weapons on/off for 'em.
