Armor Slots

I generally don't post very often, but I have spent the last day trying to figure out how to do this, and its the one thing I cant find a howto on. As I generally do not ask forums for help unless I make absolutely sure I cant find the answer on my own, I apologize in advance.

My question is thus: In the TES Construction Set and you are looking at either Vanilla Armors and/or mod armors and you would like to change the slot that the armor is equipped to, where is that setting saved at? I tried under the 'biped object' menu, and although the setting saves, once you load the game, the armor slot is still equipped in the same slot, no matter what you set it to in the Const set. Any words are appreciated in advance.

Add: More to the point, I want to have the game point to the correct body part when you equip the item. For example, when I take a chest armor and apply it to an amulet slot, the game doesn't know how to display the upper body in the new slot. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like there's something wrong with your mesh or your tezture rather than your cs

Make sure your mesh is correct and has the correct texture attached to it

Hi

I take it that you want to let's say : make Iron Armor to be equipped using the amulet slot - this is done by selecting slots in the "Biped Objects" Menu as you said, just make sure to Unpick the slots you don't want the armor to use ..but .. this will result in that the "Iron Armor" is going to clip thru the upperbody once you equip it since it doesn't replace the torso anymore. If you thought that - if you picked the Amulet slot for the Iron Armor ,it would be equipped on the neck - it will not work , slots doesn't tell the game where to place the object (with the exception of some Hair and Helmets) to change the whereabouts where the object is equipped on the player - you'll need to import the "Armor" into a 3D modelling program and weight paint (skin) the armor to a different bone of the Biped Skeleton that oblivion uses. If you already know all of this then you might want to check if :

You picked Hair & Upperbody slot = No 1st person Arms / model

If you used the Amulet slot but had "Hide Amulet" box ticked

Your Mod load order - some mods might override your new settings.

Make sure to save your settings as a new .esp (MyMod.esp) - just hitting "Save" will not save the settings to the game, only by making a new mod - you can change the settings of the game.

Good Luck ... hope the info was to some use for you.

That was nice of theRoadstroker to try and cover many of the possible issues you might be having but it will be much easier for someone to help you if you tell us exactly what your trying to do.
