mrspongeworthy
I'm one of those people who is absolutely stunned that, regardless of what you did in Origins, none of your companions come through to Awakenings. I gave up playing after about 30 minutes because it simply doesn't make any sense at all. (Imagine sitting down at the beginning of Return of the Jedi only to discover that the only character carried over from Empire Strikes Back was Luke, with no explanation whatsoever as to what happened to everyone else. I'll say it again, someone at Bioware made a very, very stupid decision here.) I had two thoughts as to how to fix this. One: Someone could add a cut-scene to the beginning of Awakenings (maybe set in the Origins Party Camp location), in which your character tells your companions that he/she has to something to do on his/her own for a while. This isn't a great solution, since many of us want to bring at least Dog or Leliana along, but at least it would allow Awakenings to make some sort of sense, whereas right now the plot begins with gibberish, so it is pretty much impossible for me to become immersed in the game. Two: I don't know if this is possible, but could someone edit one or more of the stock Awakenings companions so that they are morphed into companions from Origins? Leliana would be the obvious choice to start with since many of us completed the main quest with her as a "lifelong companion". The name, appearance, and dialogue would have to be altered. However, I've heard that it is possible to respec characters in Awakenings, so at least you wouldn't have to do that since we could do it on our own. (I haven't even played it long enough to discover if the female companion you begin Awakenings with remains a companion throughout the game, but if so, then the obvious solution would be to "morph" her into Leliana.) Kamajii
I'm a little shocked that Dog isn't coming along for the ride, but doesn't Oghren?
Firinneach
They're far from perfect, but I've been working on a couple mods that try to deal with this issue: Add Origins companions to Vigil's Keep:http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1082 Receive letters from Origins companions in Awakenings:http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1053
