Spl1nt3rC3ll
I'm not entirely sure how Oblivion's weather system works, whether is is localized or random, but I'd like to suggest a mod. Put simply, I want to stand on the edge of Dive Rock on a clear day, look out over the land, and say "glad I'm not in Bravil right now. Looks like one heck of a storm." In real life, I can look out the window and know that it's going to rain in thirty minutes because I can see the dark clouds in the distance. Is there any way to add this kind of effect into Oblivion? Or is it impossible because the skybox covers the entirety of Cyrodiil and can't be broken up? AmpolX
Im working on that very concept. Im trying to combine more realistic working textures for a high-definition weather system but im also looking into the skybox and cloud meshes to see if I can add distant weather. My first work is trying to add horizon clouds. Fallout 3 uses horizon clouds so im trying to manipulate the sky meshes to allow just that for oblivion. I believe that could be the key to distant weather. Of course this is purely for my fun and I won't release this but it is technically possible in a sense, just way too long to explain any further.
