nemtek
Hey all. Here's my snag, For the longest time I have been trying to figure out just how to edit mods i.e. Downloading an two different weapons mods in this case: munkee nuts HK416 and the Barrett M468 rifle mod. I wanted to swap out the HK416 with the M468 mesh with GECK now it will let me do this in the edit window and it even saves it. But when I load up a game, there's no change. Now, I ave read on various forums that in order to get that change you have to duplicate the original file. But nowhere in the GECk does it allow me to do so. I can see the Duplicate Command in the EDIT window but when I highlight the mod's file and click the command nothing happens. All other explanations are either very vague and way too technical for me to comprehend. Please... I just want a simple yet thorough explanation step by step on how to edit a simple weapon's mod. Thank you!
JoshQuake
I'm guessing you haven created a new 1st person file. If you have created the 1st Person Model Object: a1. Open GECKa2. Check the box beside the .esp that contains the gun you are replacing and set as Active file.a3. Locate the gun under Items->Weapon->Weapons and right-click. Select 'Edit'.a4. Direct the Model to the M468 .NIF file.a5. Direct the 1st Person Model Object drop down box to the M468.a6. Apply and Save.--------------------------------------------------------------------If you haven't created the 1st Person Model Object yet: b1. Navigate to Static->Weapons.b2. Right click and select 'New'.b3. Put in a custom ID. i.e. '1stPersonM468'b4. Direct the Model to the same one you used on step a4.b5. Click 'OK'.b6. See a5.b7. Apply and Save. Hopefully that should work.

When creating a new ID and after adding the NIF model mesh; when I click the 1st Person Model Object Box, the M468 line doesn't show up at all. :(

Thank you! Hey Nemtek, I don't know if your still struggling with this issue, but even if you solved it, I'm sure some people are having the same problem. To be able to select your 1st person model you have to make a new static form list under world objects (or modify an existing one). After that your new 1st person model will show in the "1st person model object" dropdown box
