Awakenings game glitches or is this normal?

I'm just trying to figure out if what I'm experiencing is normal, or glitches specific to my character/save, or if they are universal glitches. I run with very few mods, basically just the ftg UI mod so I can see stuff, improved tactics, and leliana/dog/ in Awakenings. That's it.

 

Here is the problem: it seems to me as if my character is unable to properly activate portions of minor quests. For example, I have located granite for voldrik, and given him the 80 gold. He has the little golden thingypoo over his head telling me that I should talk to him. What is built endures quest is saying he wants to know where the granite is.. But when I talk to him I am unable to tell him about it. I'm having a similar problem with master Wade. Sergeant Marverlies has been telling me for days and days now that "the men are still clearing the rubble In the basement.", but they never finish.

 

Do I have to complete some major quest or attain a certain level before these things will work? is this normal? I loathe the thought of going way back in my gave saves, but I would rather find out now than later if I'm irreparably glitched.

Come on guy, I'm not looking for a fix necessarily, I just want to know if I should wait it out and eventually these quests will work, or if my character or game save is hosed and I should just start over now.

I know of an issue with the granite quest where if you tell him that he can't have the soldiers, that the quest wont ever complete. Not sure if that is your problem or not.

Clearing the basement of rubble took FOREVER in my game. I think it's tied to completing something in the main plot. Cant account that for 100% accurate tho.

 

have to forgive me here, I played DAA once, and uninstalled it. too many issues for me.

 

Tho my recommendation would be to go to yahoo/google/bing whatever search engine you prefer and type in Dragon Age followed by the name of the quest. You should find walkthroughs for the quest, and they should hopefully list bugs associated with it.
