The Xenon Vault

Introduction:

For me, a very interesting aspect of the Fallout Games were the vaults. For the normal Wastelander, a vault could be the pinnacle of technology.

But after entering them, I was a little disappointed. Sure, most of them were in ruins, and the few remaining vaults are more advanced than anything you cold find in the available wastelands. But I was always expecting something more. Maybe one vault was able to preserve this or another piece of pre-war technology, and then they lost the knowledge of doing something else etc...

Now, after seeing the common vaults, they were trumped by the Enclave, who were more advanced than everything we have ever seen before.

 

My thoughts were: "If the Vaults are more technologically more advanced than the Wastelands,

and the Enclave is even more advanced than the vaults... why shouldn't there be someone who's in turn even more advanced than the Enclave!"

That was the moment I decided to create the Xenon Vault.

 

Description:

The goal of this Mod is to create a High-Tech Vault for the Player, complete with every kind of feature you'd expect of such a facility. Instead of using the Vault and Utility tiles, I'll use the 'Mothership Zeta' tiles to create most of this vault, since the Aliens of 'Mothership Zeta' are obviously the technologically most advanced beings in the Fallout Universe. The results won't give you the feeling of being inside of another Mothership, that's for sure. I've already changed some of the Original Tiles, and the results look pretty good.

 

But since this will be my first official release, I hope I can turn towards the community when I face problems with remodeling, scripting and ideas

I expect to finish this mod when "Fallout: New Vegas" will be released, and I really hope it will be possible to import the Mod into this game.

 

 

Planned Features:

-The Vault will contain the following rooms:

  • The Player Quarters
  • The Laboratory
  • The Central Controlroom
  • The Common Room
  • The Companion's Quarters
  • The "Greenhouse"
  • The Armory
  • The Reactor
  • The Computer Core
  • The Kitchen
  • The Factory

-At the beginning, many parts of the vault will be sealed. The player will have to solve many problems and secrets before he/she gains access to every part of the vault.

 

-The Player Quarters will have the following features:

  • -Access a central storage system. You can store some items in there and access them from everywhere inside the vault
  • -Repair the Xenon Vaults own teleportation System. Now you know what happened to the previous owner...
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

-The Armory will have the following features:

  • -A trophy wall (Display every Weapon you found in the Wastelands. And if you want to use it, just take it off the wall.)
  • -The Mannequins (Every decent Playerhouse Mod should have these. Display the armors of your fallen foes!)
  • -The Ammunition Room (The Game can sort your ammunition into Containers or on shelves, where you can just pick up whatever you need.)
  • -The Library (Why should you give your books away? Put them into your own Library and have something nice to read when it rains outside!)

-The Laboratory will have the following features:

  • -Store your chems with the automated sorter. Find any meds you need faster.
  • -Convert useless chems into Xenon Vaults special Goo. Goo can be used to healyourself, or you can repair the machine whos converts goo into chems!
  • -Use your very own waterpurifier. Of course, there's always some way of reversing the effect...

-The Greenhouse will have the following features:

  • -Grow your own oasis! Harvest the fruits of your hard work.
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

-The Reactor:

  • -You will visit this part of the vault very often....
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

-The Computer Core:

  • -Secrets can be found somewhere deep inside...
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

-The Central Controlroom:

  • Somebody is playing with you, but you don't know the rules...
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

-The Factory:

  • You can hear the machines, but you can't find a way to get closer... what are these machines producing?
  • -[Rest will remain Secret for now.]

Problems Encountered:

-Some of my Remodeled Nifs are crashing the game. I try to find the reason but sometimes I'll need help.

-Ideas. I always need more ideas how to fill the Vault a little bit more. If you have an Ideas or something you want me to add/include in my mod, please say so.

 

Afterword:

This is all for now. I'll upload some screenshots at a later date, but they won't reveal much, since I want the Quests to be challenging.

The basic features are easy to obtain, but the other parts will require some thinking and a good Scientific knowledge...

This, this is a work of art. I would love to help, my modding is HORRIBLE, but I am very creative and am willing to supply you with endless Ideas... Though you may not like some.

 

Just spill them. I'm still furnishing the rooms (lights, accessoires and containers) and there's still some room left.

So, what would you put into your own Player house?

The "Vaults" where not made to be super-high tech, Vault-tec had to build so many on a short notice so high amount of seen tech is out of the question.

 

cool! sounds a LOT like my HiVE mod!
