ronmerrick1
Hello there.Ive recently picked up the basics on how to mod. After a while of thinking the first thing i should try to do, i decided something,.I recently found the D U N E mod. it was made a while ago and abandoned. This couldve been a beautiful mod.So i decided i'd take the resources into my hands and try to finish it.Im pretty basic, so i'd like to learn on the way of making it.I'd need help from other people, so hopefully somebody is interested in this project too. Anyway, get back to me. Link to D U N E mod if you dont know it:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12218
TodaY
what do you exactly want to do with the dune mod?more quests? more exterior/interior design?
ronmerrick1
More exterior but also interior. Look at it. it had alot of potential, and since i dont know much of the owners ideas and intentions, i guess we'd mainly take the resources and reform itOne thing tho, i wanna keep the real Desert concept in D U N E. Like, i enjoyed elsweyr deserts of anequina, but i felt the desert wasn't.. Desert enough. Like it wasnt barren enough.D U N E truly picks the desert concept up which is why i chose it.So we'd mainly fill it up with quests and npcs, the cities would be buzzing with life but the outside would be a hostile wasteland. Also, as for scripting...I know nothing about scripting, but if theres somebody great at it. maybe we can add something similar to fatigue that makes your character need water. bben46
Try to get in contact with the original author for permission. They will probably be happy that someone wants to resurrect it, and may be willing to share any unpublished resources they still have.
LHammonds
IIRC, they were pretty particular about the quality of what went into the mod as well as what could be "traded" between modders. As of right now, it looks like you have no "resume" of sorts when it comes to modding. I do wish you luck with this but try to start off modding small things first. I have yet to see somebody take on a large project that is not already skilled in most areas that the mod requires and ever finish it. kieranfoy
Normally, I'd laugh my head off at the idea of a n00b modder trying to cut his teeth on the biggest unfinished project on the Nexus to date, but... I have to admire your stones. Refuge in Audacity indeed.
ronmerrick1
You guys are all really motivating, lol.I admit i bit off a bit more then i can chew, but even so I'd love to give this a try. And about permission, seems like he left it completely out in the open. Imma work with that until i contact him.If anybody would like to look into working on this project, thatd be great. bben46
Go for it. The worst thing that can happen is you gain a lot of mod experience that can be applied to your next project.
