Emerica
I Think the staff would look cool for a mage, but im not sure if im going to use that for my custom mage class....What do you think????
Pob
Yes, would be cool. Comes under the blunt wepaon skill and the mages guild quests liberate some nice staves, so would be a good choice. Also allows you the options to use maces/hammers etc if you get bored with staves and saves having to buy the block skill (as you use 2h weapons). Daedric staff would be cool as well, may go that way wsith my mage
Vaa
Nothin beets the Staff of Magnus on "coolnes", though it is way to short to be a staff, same with spears, way to short.
FabFour
yeah staff (staves?) is cool for a mage, but I think staves are more for the monk-type, I say a good shortblade is REALLY cool for a mage :)
thanateros
one handed long blades are always a nice option for mages, for some reason the ebony longsword looks really nice with mage robes, don't ask me why. Staff of Magnus = uber fun and it doesn't look terribly bad, but Bethseda really fubared the walking animation, it should rest only in one had and then the second should be used for combat. I've only been able to change the weapon type in game, not the animation, but with that staff you might be able to pull it off as a one handed blunt weapon. for a custom mage class i usaully think about what kind of mage i'm making. Usually i end up with a weapon class as a secondary skill, and if you are planning on doing some fighting with a one handed weapon then take i would also suggest block as a potential skill as well. one class of armor proficiency is always good to have around, even if it's just unarmored. For a more traditional mage i would go with blunt weapons, but for more paladin (spellcast + combat) i would probably choose something that will add more bite if you choose a race/sign that isn't going to give you tons of mana. Vaa
Yeah, the best/coolest thing would be if you were able to have the staff one handed, it wouldn't go as fast attacking with it, but you could use a shield.
