Game won't Start

When I attempt the start the game, it attempts to load, brings up a black screen momentarily and then dumps me back onto my desktop. After some trial and error I've determined the mod causing this problem is the Harvest [Flora] mod. Anyone know why this might be? I'd REALLY like to use this mod, so any help you can provide is much appreciated it.

 

Here's a list of my mods and load order:

These were all added to a clean install, I only just bought the game and put it on my computer.

Harvest Flora shouldn't cause your game to shut down. I've been using it for years with a couple of hundred other mods and it works perfectly.

 

You haven't listed the BSA so do you actually have the resources installed. These are the files I have in my data folder. I don't use any of the DLC's, unless you'd call Shivering Isles one.

Harvest [Flora] - bsa - this is the one with the necessary resource files. It's an archive like the Oblivion bsa's and contains the meshes and textures the esp needs to reference.

I used the Oblivion Mod Manager to install it. What you see is exactly what it gave me. Did I do something wrong?

Have you rebuilt your bash patch since you installed Harvest Flora? I don't know about others, but for me the number 1 common cause of the error you're describing, when you get the black screen for just a sec and then back to your desktop, is that I added something that makes changes to the world and then forgot to rebuild the patch. When you do rebuild it, make sure you're ticking all the boxes to import graphics, too. That'll cause the same error if you don't.

Make sure you aren't running any .esps which are dependent on .esms that you do not have installed. A missing .esm can prevent your game from starting.

 

You have a small mod list, so you could just systematically deactive mods to isolate your problem. That might be easier than doing lots of brain work to think about the characteristics of all the mods, how they interact, and what they are dependent on.

Fonger, THANK YOU. Deactivating those esp's resolved my problem. I'm a complete noob when it comes to modding, so please forgive my retardation. And thanks to everyone who responded. No doubt I'll have more troubleshooting to do in the future when I tack on more mods. For now, I just wanna get started playing.
