Zephyr2011
Cadeus had schemed on the roof for a little bit, The introductions will wait, let's see how they handle under real pressure. He drew from his kit two strange cross bars, they were quite shiny, much to his distaste, and he placed them across one another on top of the roof hatch, they adjusted downward at 90 degree angles so they attached to the roof, to actually attach them though required explosives, or extremely meticulous and time-consuming man power. He chose the subtlety of the latter and began to carefully screw the bolts into the roof and used several anchors to fasten them securely, at least he wouldn't be suprised, it would take super human strength to open the already weighty hatch with two titanium bars blocking it. The next part, the fun part, was to take out the eye drone and send it down to torment the occupants, or at the very least gather intelligence on them, the far stealthier drone floated down to the door so that it would be right above and behind it when it swung open, it could be maneuvred to be in front of the doo to be obvious but until such a time when this would be advantageous it was very discreet and out of harm's way. monkybuttface
Surn relaxed, his back against the wall, his only concern was that he could sense nothing outside the power station, it's construction had way too much metal in it, and it blocked him. A small army of robots could be outside and he would not be able to feel them, the thought made him nauseous, and he considered going outside, but he instead forced down the rising bile, he had just gotten here and he did not want to look like a weirdo (at least not yet)Little did he know that if he HAD stepped outside the presence of the eyebot would become immediately obvious to him. evilneko
Sasha plopped into the only chair in the building, the tiny little office chair at the desk. There were two more chairs, but both were up on the roof, and had been for as long as Sasha knew. Why they hadn't tossed at least one of them down, she couldn't remember, but they hadn't, and so there was just the one. She looked over at Dave, who had apparently fallen into a fairly deep sleep, and then at Surn. Â "Well, at least we're making it boring for who ever's watching us. So Mister, how did you figure out a way through the traps anyway? You're the first person in years to make it through without tripping at least one. And why are you so afraid of Eyebots?" monkybuttface
Surn looked over at Sasha "well, that is a little complicated, and this story usually gets me run out of town, but judging from your eyes, I would say you might understand" he shifts a little and clears his throat "well see, before i was born my mama had a little run in with some radiation, never was clear on how, and I ended up a little different then I would have normally, I assume you have a similar story to explain your eyes, anyway I ended up with a sensitivity to magnetism, so this means im like a human metal detector, only a lot more precise. I also have ADHD, insomnia, short term memory loss around when I fall asleep, I don't wake up easy, and a few other things. As for my fear of eyebots, it goes for all robots, i also don't like scorpions much, just in a little different way. The fear of robots has to do with the way they feel, it is very disturbing, and I find them unnatural, leads to some very basic instinctual fears. I hope that answers your questions, so, are you gonna run me out?" he looks at her curiously.
evilneko
Sasha shook her head. "Nah. You're like us then, we won't run you out or shoot you, unless you do something bad that is. But that explains a lot about how you got through the traps. You could see them easy."Â Sasha hrmed, pondering what Surn said about robots feeling weird. She nodded, "I guess that kinda makes sense, they got all kindsa gears and stuff in 'em. Well, we don' see too many of 'em around here. Except when the Outcasts or Talons come by. Outcasts ignore us. Talons... well.." She turned and leaned down, digging in one of the piles. She pulls up a badly battered and cracked Talon chestplate and shows it to Surn. "They pick fights, or get blown up by our mines. They don't come around here much anymore though."
monkybuttface
Surn looks at the chestplate "Talon Company, supposedly the toughest mercenary band in the wastes? Bull, Reilly's Rangers does much better work, not as big though. Those Talon guys don't roll alone, but then they tend to be a sloppy mess, I would be more afraid of the kids over in Little Lamplight then them. At least in Lamplight they have DISCIPLINE. These mercs are complete pushovers. Mayor Mccready is a pretty good shot, and bum... wait, wasnt I talking about Talon Company? ADHD, sorry, can be a little difficult to stay on one train of thought." He shook his head, he did that when he wasn't thinking straight, "you girls got lucky, you could have just as easily wound up like me, or worse. At least my skin stays on, eh?" He grinned
Nekochild08
Aisha was listening to the conversation as she made her own way to her corner. Sitting down against it and sighing, she simply heard Surn telling his tale and didn't decide to interrupt until he began to talk about a place called Little Lamplight. She wasn't sure of the name so she wanted to learn more. Looking to him, she said. "Whats the Little Lamplight place like? I don't think I've heard about it before. Is it close to here?" She was trying to sound casual but she was actually trying to gather intelligence on the place since it could possibly be a source of food for the twin girls. They would usually trade with the larger towns but if it were a small, harmless town they could take it by force if necessary.
evilneko
"Yep, Talon don't get much respect from us!" Sasha said proudly, tossing the ruined armor back on the floor. Â She was about to ask about Little Lamplight when her sister spoke up. She looked over at Aisha, then back to Surn, smiling. A whole place full of kids? That sounded like fun. And if they at least had a decent food supply, it might even be worth the trip even if it wasn't close by. The girls could possibly even leave their home and move there, and leave the dangerous raiding lifestyle behind. It'd certainly be safer, with a lot less people shooting at them, and the less people shooting at them, especially at Aisha, the better. Or apparently stalking them, as Sasha's thoughts once again returned to the mysterious eyebot they'd seen earlier. Â Sasha grimaced, "yeah.. skin is.. good," she chuckled. "Tell us more about Little Lamplight!"
Zephyr2011
Cadeus yawned at his boring post, he had surveyed all the other traps around the powerstation andnew all of their locations now after the couple of hours of scouring the bleak landscape, most of them were quite well hidden but in places there were patterns obviously broken, the pitfall for example, the false sense of security wasn't fostered enough, it immeditely appeared to be an open space, very suspicous, if the area around it was clearer the person might actually think they were home free before falling into it but anyone who'd passed the mine fields would be dilligent enough to bypass it. The razor thin trip wire was another story though, that one was tricky he was only able to tell it was there when some of the dust stirred up and the sun hit it just so. After analyzing defenses he got quite bored. Hmmm, it's been a few hours, no increased movement. Nap, time haha. He thought, the terminal for the eye drone was set to an extremely loud and obnoxious alert if the drone was destroyed or detected movement to wake him so he could fight or bargain with who or whatever it was. monkybuttface
Surn frowned "Little Lamplight? I dunno where we are but it is a network of caverns in the hills west of Paradise Falls, a good few miles west. Bunch of kids, they throw out people who get too old, I don't know the age. Call all the adults mungos, they have a pretty constant food supply actually, but it is all mushrooms, only thing they are really good for is getting rid of radiation, and they do that very well. The caverns have a link to one of the Vaults, I went up there one time when I was with the Regulators, after some slavers who were hauling off kids, treated 'em like cattle. I also went up to the area around the vault, saw a whole squad of Talon mercs get slaughtered, some by the Super Mutants, most by the radiation. But I don't know how you would like Lamplight, i bet those eyes of yours would come in handy."
