A Raiders Morality

Aisha listened close as Surn talked about Little Lamplight. It sounded like a pretty cool place if there was only children there. Not to mention it's probably safer with just kids in the town since adults always seemed to want to kill them. Talon, Raiders, Regulators, they all were adults and they all wanted their heads. If they could get to Little Lamplight then maybe they could start a peaceful life after all. She was sure that her mommy and daddy would like that a lot since they wanted the twins to be safe. Well, her mommy did at least. She was too young to remember losing her daddy. Looking to Surn, she said curiously. "Do you think you'd be able to take us there or point us in the right direction? It sounds like a good place to check out."

Sasha nodded her agreement. Even if they could only live there til a certain age, they'd still be better off there, and with their wasteland skills, they could easily help supply better food for the whole place, not to mention defend it. Proximity to a vault was also interesting. Super mutants not so much.

 

"Yeah that sounds like a great place.. safer than this place with someone watching us anyway. And there's safety in numbers too.." She glanced over at the still unresponsive Dave. "Need to do something about him though if we're gonna leave.."

"Well, I can try. I am unfortunatly not sure of where we are, so I don't have any clue which way to go, I tend to get disoriented when I go to sleep, and well, I slept the other day. If you have a map I can see, then we might be in business, and I will most certainly take you there myself, I have nothing better to do. And if your thinking about using your skills as a raider to get food, well Mccready wont mind Im sure. And if your wondering how I knew you were raiders, well you don't spend three years as a brotherhood knight, one as a regulator, two as a talon, and the rest as a freelancer without learning how raiders act, I also rolled with the crew up in the Pitt for a few months, I left when I found out how likely I was to become a trog, ha ha. And yes, we can't just leave him here, he might step on a mine on his way out, want me to carry him?"

Apparently, Surn had been a lot of places, done a lot of things. Well, obviously, he'd had more time to do things. He was probably well over twice the girls' age. They'd really only been raiding for three years.

 

"Wait, you were a regulator? And what's the Brotherhood? Eh, nevermind.. Little Lamplight's more important.." She looked over at Dave, and frowned again. "Yeah, it'd be great if you could carry him out... there's a shack across the road, we can leave him there. Not closed, but radscorps avoid it for some reason. Eh, as for a map.."

 

Sasha rifled through the desk drawers, and finally came up with a clipboard. Attached to it was a crudely-drawn map, with Jury street, the power station, and Arefu labeled on it. The power station was labeled with a heart, Arefu with an X, and a smiley face was drawn next to Jury street. She held the map out for Surn.

 

"We made this ourselves. Not the best one.. got another one with more places, somewhere around here.. is that good enough?"

"Yes, it is good. Actually I was wrong earlier, it is in fact about a mile or two west of here, directly almost. And I will carry him, and I will also remember that this shack is here, avoid the radscorpions eh?" Surn stretched his muscles, "when shall we leave?"

"West? Isn't that where the sun goes down? Eh, we could go now, we could probably make it there before it starts getting too low and hurting... then come back at night to get our things if we decide to stay."

 

She got up off the chair, and started gathering up various supplies, stuffing them into a makeshift backpack she'd made herself out of a teddy bear, a length of canvas, and some leather belts. "Just a few things for the trip.."

Aisha was happy to know that it wasn't very far to this Little Lamplight place. Things were going to be all better once they were there. They would let them in right? They were both kids so it's only fair that a place full of kids allows two more into their cave. They could be useful too since their eyes allowed them to see in the dark. Looking to Surn, she said. "I'm ready to go now. I just had some food, I have my rifle, and I have plenty of ammo."

"Well, while you are getting ready, I will wait outside." He then bent down, grabbed Dave, slung him over his shoulder gently, then walked outside, where he immediately sensed the eyebot. He drew his pistol and blasted two shots into the heart of the despicable machine. He then stuck his head inside the door "Hey, I found that damn eyebot!"

Cadeus stood with his REAPR pointing at Surn, "For sensing metal you're not too good at fgiuring out when there's a gun pointed at your head are you?" He laughed, his drone was innoperable but easily fixed and it was automatically set to trip-wire mode now that it had lost its locomotion. "Put the pistol down and step back, I'd tell you to be careful of the mine behind you but I'm guessing you remeber where it is." He commanded, "Everyone else get out here and don't touch the drone, unless you want to lose a leg, it's practically a mine now and it's rather nasty to defuse. I'm here for information so you can relax on that score but you try anything and I'll blow your *ban* head off, as McCreedy would say." The bounty hunter chuckled.

Upon hearing the mans voice outside and seeing the gun pointing to his head, she gave a small growl and said. "Don't shoot him, we're coming out." She looked to her sister and gave her a 'don't do anything stupid' look since she knew her sister was the more reckless one of the two of them. She kept her assault rifle on her back as she stepped outside and away from the gate, towards the breakers, before stopping and looking at the man. Frowning, she said. "What do you want to know? We don't get out much after all so we might not be able to answer."
