"Ooh, this looks promising." Akkli mutters to himself. He locks the window and puts cloth over the cracks around the door and window...to prevent the vampires enterine...or so he hopes.

Then he sits and watchs out the window...Dozing every noe and then.

"Well this was certainly a warm welcome, wouldn't you agree," she reflects, looking at Shadow, "I guess we could try pounding on an Inn door or something; hopefully these people aren't sheep enough to break out of whatever fears have bound them."

Walking confidently over the nearest Inn she knocks on the door three times with one knuckle.

"Excuse me, we are new arrivals and were wondering if there was room enough to host two wary travelers. Can you help us?"

Noticing the fog she looks to her flank in the darkness, "Hmm, interesting, usually fog from a body of water doesn't roll in until sunrise."

A lightly tense expression washes over her face, "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea," she suggests.

As she eats her dinner, Alenee can't help regretting that she'd ever accepted this job. Though the food is better than a lot of what she's experienced, the contrast from just a few days earlier annoys her.

After finishing the meal, tiredness finally overcomes her. The short nap earlier in the day is already a distant memory, and she can think of little more than sleep. She drops her equipment in a pile on the floor, then walks over to inspect the hammock. The small size inspires brief thoughts of murder for the owner, but she settles for a few curses and a promise never to return here. She piles her clothes on the floor, adding at least a tiny bit of comfort to the hard surface, then lies down to sleep. Even the less than ideal conditions are no match for her exhaustion, and she quickly falls asleep.

The Inn door opens to a very tired looking woman.

"What?" She half-yells at Simonaefura and Shadow. "Want a room? 15 gold each. Dinner extra. so are pillows. and blankets. and fire wood. and rental of the dresser." The woman continues on and on, obviously mad at the two of you for waking her up.

----Akkli-----

As Akkli watches outside, the mist begins to thicken, to the point where he cannot see through the window. Suddenly the kist is gone, and two bone-dry cows are lying in the street.

OOC:Thanateros, you are not in the same town as Akkli. He is on the island with the ruins/temple. You guys are still on the island with Oasis. You are in a ferry town.

"Fine I'll take a room and just a room," she smiles malevolently, "see, I have my own sleeping pad in my pack which I use to keep all of my clothes and food."

Counting out 15 gold and cautiously putting every coin in the palm of the woman she flinches at the Inn keeper. "Did that wake you hag or would you prefer something stronger? You have my gold, don't bother me anymore."

Once settled in her room she starts to think how pointless this feels. Miles from anything resembling a civilization or even a tree (this is the desert right?). And all for what? Vampires? No, she thinks, there is a greater purpose but given how uncomfortable she feels that notion is slipping away.
