Dark Things

Simonaefura rises as the sunlight splashes over her nude body.

Dressing herself she walks downstairs, fully garbed and ready to set off to the next island. Passing by the Innkeeper she gives her a nasty glare, deffinitely not pleased with the rooming accomidations. Seeing a basket of rolls set out she grabs one and walks out of the Inn, ignoring the woman completely.

Wondering where her traveling companion went she strolls down the where the ferry was she curses as she sees that it has left (or has it?).

The morning sun coming in the window shocks Alenee out of her sleep. Cursing any god she can think of for oversleeping, she quickly gathers her equipment and runs out the door. Halfway to the dock, she spots another person by the boat, discussing something with the owner. Fear briefly freezes her, could news have come this far already? No... she relaxes a bit as she identifies the woman... the closest thing to an ally she has right now. Settling for pulling her cloak around tighter to conceal her identity, she continues down to the dock. "I would like passage as well," she announces. She drops a few coins into the man's hand. "This should pay for me... ten times the usual price if we leave right now without delay."

<ooc: sorry, home for the weekend and internet access is kind of a problem there>

The man smiles.

"Yes M'Lady. So generous, unlike the other one" He says, glaring at Simonaefura. "We need more of you kind around, yes we do!" He says, picking up his happy tone again.

You hear a hissing from behind you, and you see the mist come out of the rock where you hid the blade. Though thinned out, the mist is definetly getting thicker.

The mist worries her for a moment, but she quickly dismisses it from her mind. The sword is far from town, she assures herself, and there's plenty of clear space to dissipate it. And plenty of time for them to get out if there is trouble. Anyway, she thinks with a bad feeling she's going to regret it, there are more important things.... like vengeance... to deal with. She turns back, as if the past few seconds had never happened.

"Just lovely. I left my home and my husband for this?!" she sighs.

"No use in getting caught up in details," her attention turns to Shadow, "glad to see you decided to make it, I was beginning to worry whether you were going to come at all. Ready to do slaughter some vampires?"

At that she pulls out a small brown leather pouch and tosses it up several times. From the sound of it there is gold inside. She lets it rest in her hand, "Hmm getting a little low," she comments to herself, "maybe I should find some work or something."

From behind she feels a phantasmal nudge, she steps forward and bumps into one of the ferry patrons, "A thousand pardons," she appoligizes.

Looking behind she sees nothing, turning her head to the front of the boat she rolls her eyes and under her breath mutters, "Damn you Boethiah."

After the trip on the tiny boat and the fears of discovery that went along with it, the freedom of town is a welcome change. The new stranger especially worries her, though from what she overheard they seem to be on the same side, something in her mind warns her to be especially careful. "A spy for....." she cuts off mid thought, suddenly aware that she is thinking aloud again. "No, too open for their style...." She dismisses the thought of open hostility for now, though if the stranger hears of the disaster back in the city... Far safer to go alone for now, as much as she'd like Simonaefura back as an ally.

A bump in the back startles her out of her thoughts. With a bit of embarassment, she realizes that she is blocking the way off of the dock. She nods in acceptance of Simonaefura's appology, careful to keep her face concealed in her cloak, then walks off into the village. A quick look around tells her there is nothing of interest here, so she continues to the far edge of town. She studies her maps for a moment to be sure of her directions, then walks off into the forest towards the ruins.
