Vrayth
My oblivion road textures looks really blurry just a few meters in front of my character. The ground textures near me looks sharp, but just a few meters ahead look blurry and ugly, it's especially noticeable on straight leveled roads, and bridges. I noticed this today, and I wasn't sure if it was always like that, but once I seen it I couldn't be unseen. I uninstalled oblivion, and cleaned my registry, before reinstalling but it's still the same, even without any mods. I tried forcing Anisotropic Filtering x16 through my graphics software, but it didn't help. Please help me if there is a way to fix this.

TheMastersSon
I've never stumbled on a mod for this issue, and I'd be surprised if one existed. I think it's an engine limitation, or rather a practical design limit for line-of-sight detail. When you look down at the ground, only a small area immediately under you is visible directly, without any angle distortion, and this distortion increases quickly with distance. So I think flat terrains like roads are blurry at a short distance because of their flatness. It's true not just with roads but any flat and homogenous terrain (grass etc). Try toggling collision (tcl) in a console window and raise your PC up about 30 or 40 feet, then look down and you should see a much larger area of road and ground in proper high detail. If a mod does exist for this specific issue I'd love to try it. Edited March 24, 2017 by TheMastersSon
